vertvert 07-18-2007, 02:35 PM have them reworked at a rim shop
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 04:42 PM do you have an idea of what it would cost? because i dont have a lot money wise. im only sixteen and i dont have a solid job.
PixMan 07-18-2007, 04:53 PM Store the BBS wheels until you can afford the RIGHT fix for those fine spools. In the meantime, find an affordable set of AT Italia or Borbet wheels to run.
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 05:29 PM alright thanks for the input. what about size? and if they are 17 or 18's should i get low profile tires?
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 05:29 PM i want to make this car look amazing
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 05:40 PM i have been looking at wheels and i was wondering wheres the best site to buy wheels?
stephanb 07-18-2007, 06:42 PM tirerack has a good sortiment of wheels. the ones im running (look at sig) are 16x7.5 with no low profile tires. the car does have a drop and i almost had to get my rear fenders rolled .

they are ROD wheels not sure if you can get them in the US
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 09:12 PM yeah i love the wheels you got on there! i went over to my local sears and talked to a guy and im sending my BBS out to get sand blasted and repainted. in the mean time i think im getting a cheap set of borbet wheels. they are like...99 bucks a wheel
runningpanda 07-18-2007, 09:24 PM ok i have a problem...where do i send the wheels to be refurbished/repainted? the guy had some weird site and when i looked it up they didnt have any repainting or refurbishing pparts to the site. i dunno what to do
vertvert 07-19-2007, 10:13 AM ask your tire shop they my have contact number for you. also maybe look for a powdercoating shop they also do rims.
Travis R 07-19-2007, 10:51 AM If you want to save yourself some headaches just find a used set of wheels off a newer 5 or 7 series. They should all fit perfectly and can be had for a song. I got a complete set of style-60s for $50.
My personal preference is a 16x7.5 wheel.
Here, I've already done half the work... ;)

runningpanda 07-19-2007, 12:06 PM thank you so much i really appreciate the help! i made a couple hundred bucks today making a logo for a small business, so i might even pick up a set of alpina replicas for 700 but i dunno yet
e24mpwr 07-19-2007, 12:37 PM You could also try The Wheel Exchange (http://www.thewheelexchange.com/). I bet some Rondell 58's would look nice - they list them on eBay, too. They have a nice dish and come in 16" and 17". They used to
Personally, I wouldn't go bigger than 17" on an E28. Bigger works (think it tops out @ 18" before you have to start doing things to the car) but doesn't look good IMHO and stresses the suspension a lot.
Just google "wheel repair", though I'd just throw them on a shelf for the future if you're getting new ones.
runningpanda 07-20-2007, 04:46 PM i like the 58's alot. i found a small powdercoating place right down the road that im going to check out tomorrow. but i definetly like that.
what do you think about this? i want to get a 535is front and rear airdam and a trunk lid spoiler, push back my fenders so they dont stick out as much, then have my gold basketweaves. i want the car painted black and i want to get the alpina pin stripe down the side. and of course i'll get some springs to lower it. what do you all think about that? good idea?
I'd only ask if the mechanical stuff is sorted before you start doing a lot of cosmetic stuff. A nicely "pimped" car sin't as impressive if it won't make it out of your driveway.
You have a 528e, the perfect car for some serious performance mods (like a turbo). I recommend beefing up the suspension, then taking some of the cash it would take to make it look like an "is" and put it into the engine. careful though, I'm told that modifying can be addictive.
That's just me, and of course it's your car, so you can do what you want with it. I just come from a place where LCF ("Look Cool Factor") isn't as important as KAF ("Kick A$$ Factor").
As for the wheels, I'm personally not partial to gold, but it's just paint. You may want to undertake refinishing them yourself.
PixMan 07-21-2007, 11:10 AM Here's my E28 with AT Italia Style 23 M-Kontur replicas. They are 17", running ContiSport Contact's in 225/45 size.
