Hey guys,

I'm putting up my daily driver for sale. I recently took a new job which requires me to drive rather long distances and I simply can't afford the gas mileage anymore. This was the last model of the E38 body style, and the best of the 7 series bmw models IMO. The car has a clean title, never been in an accident, and very clean inside and out. Here's some info on the car:

I currently don't have enough posts to post pictures, so please use AIM or email and I can send you pictures. I know I don't have too many posts, but i've been a long time active member at supraforums.com if you need references. A better idea would be to come check out the car if you're local.

I am sure its a beautiful car and low mileage too. I cant imagine 25 mpg being a bad enough reson to sell. Most cars only get about 30 no matter what they advertise, even hondas

You get 25 MPG??? Wow...I average about 17 to 18 mpg. Is 25 what most E38 owners are getting?

25 mpg? no way! I get 14 city, and maybe 18 tops on long highway trips. I spend $70 a week on gas here in Chicago. Do you get that (25mpg) with the e38 sport?

Mine died at 32000k 8 months ago. I never got 25 mpg! Maybe it wasn't broken in yet? 23 was about the best. Averaged about 11 around town. The e66 isn't any better around town. We'll see later today how it does on a long haul.

13-16 around town for me. Freeway could be 23 or so. 25? I never achieved that, I don't think.
However, the Sport models tend to be less economical.

This comes up regularly, but a well-running non-sport E38 can get 25-26 MPG on the highway, assuming we're talking about sustained 75-ish MPH...

The Sport has shorter gears so it's running at higher RPMs and tends to lose a couple of MPG versus the non-Sports...

Thats a crazy good price IMO. Good luck with the sale.

Oh yeah, I have never seen 25mpg in my 7 either. 18-19 around town, 22-23 highway.

I love how my thread turned into a MPG thread :) Anyway, I emailed the pics to fermunky, so hopefully when he checks his mail he'll be able to upload them for me. For now here's my way of getting around the system:

Did you ever own a supra or prelude at anytime? Your SN looks really familiar.

I'm at 16.5 average in the city and 21.5 on the highway (manual calculation). The BMW computer is highly inaccurate I've found.
