Glass is only around 200-300 it's the damn installation that kills. I ended up out the door with wipers to the tune of around $975. Granted that was dealer installed factory glass, but then all I was paying was the ins. co deductible.

My sister had her windshield replaced by a glass shop for 300 bucks, fit and finish is perfect. That's an a 2002 325i.

My best friend from Houston came to visit today, also a BMW enthusiast. I was showing him what the car could do on a very very long straight farm road. I was goin about 110-120 when I saw about 20 buzzards fly off a dead carcass of some sort. I had enough time to say: FUCK BIRDS. lucky I only hit one, and so close to the pillar and roof...or it probably woulda gone through

Dint really scare me, Im used to deer and jackrabbits around here. Damn I wish I had a picture of that buzzard, it was bigger than my Boston terrier

I paid 190 out the door for a new windshield. They fucked up my trim, though, so it's missing. Doesn't leak and the glass is good, though.

I wasn't paying it and so I didn't care. I did get factory glass, which ends up being the heated windshield from the E32. It was only $100 out of pocket as it was claimed on the insurance.
