New to this forum and to bimmers for that matter, Think it's time to step out of my 02 s2000.. I'm looking at this car near me right now. The only thing I've seen with it while the test drive is:

3rd gear always grinding when going into it... syncro?

The radio knob is missing...

There seems to be a little water or dew inside one of the headlights.

I told the guy straight up that I won't be purchasing the car with the grinding issue, he said to me, "well what if we fixed it?"

Here are some photos... you guys are the experts, is there anything visually wrong with this car? [Why does my acc not have perm to use URL's?]

Here are some specs I know...
6 speed, fully loaded, CD changer, 73k miles
$ 21,500

any info that can be provided is greatly appreciated... Thanks.

Make sure that you take it to an independent BMW shop (good one) where they can do a pre-purchase inspection for you. The grinding in third may or may not be a big issue.
However, better to have the PPI done. It may even give you the power to bring the $$ down for issues that are found. Good luck!

This maybe a possibility, my third gear grind stopped after I changed out my fluid. But mine only happened when I rush through the gear box at WOT.

well, forget about that silver one. I found a white one w/ tan interior that looks so much nicer in and out. I think I decided. letcha know

although, on the test drive. a msg came on saying check coolant temp, and it began to overheat, the needle was in the red. The dealer said they would fix this issue. what are your thoughts?
