A few months ago I posted a thread in an effort to find a "///M" Momo horn button for my Momo Champion steering wheel. I just wasn't happy with the gray "Momo" I currently have. There were very few replies to this thread and no one in the US or Canada had this button, so I thought the chances of finding such a button were next to nothing.

Luckily, a member here by the name of "vapor" offered to help me after I found a Japanese site that sold Momo horn buttons. I can't read Japanese, but vapor, who is in Japan, translated it for me and also graciously offered to go to the shop and see if they had the button I was looking for.

vapor purchased 2 buttons (///M and BMW) for me solely on a promise I made in an email that I would pay him if he tracked them down. Not only did he purchase and mail both buttons to me, but he didn't ask for anything in return other than the cost of the buttons.

What a great guy! We should be honored to have a member like him.

Thanks, Wade! Here's a pic of the button installed!

That's true. I'd like to thank "Spencer" as well for the smooth transactions for the the GT/LTW splitter and Hella healight level adjusters. Those were big $$$ purchases!!

I bought a harness bar and some Sparco 5 point harnesses from a member by the name of jmillet about a month ago. Once we agreed to a price, I gave him my Zip code and he said he would get back to me with the shipping cost. Not only did he get back to me with shipping, he gave me the tracking number as well. He sent it out before we had even talked about payment. He said that he trusted me because "people form the midwest are so honest". I was so impressed by this that I sent him a cashier's check by priority mail that same day.
It was his trust that he had in me as a fellow member/enthusiast the I was most impressed with. Its nice to see there are some others like that...

Looks good. I'd do the same but haven't quite come to terms with losing my airbag. . . but the temptation is stong.

That looks awesome! A very nice touch. It's nice to hear of a fellow enthusiast helping another one out.

I'm very tempted to get a Momo or euro no airbag wheel. Getting around the airbag lite is easy, but I'm torn because the momo wheel blocks the upper part of the tach the way I sit in the car...

Since my '95 has a non-tilt column, I'm kinda stuck. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I'm glad so many of you like the new touch. I had a choice of putting the "///M" or BMW roundel on. I thought this one would look better because there are no roundel symbols in the car and this button would complement the ///M in the gauge console (seen just above the wheel in the pic).

I'm not too crazy about the euro non-airbag wheel. I REALLY like the look of the Momo Champion wheel. It looks even better now with this button rather than the "Momo" button.

It's true, the the top part of the wheel does block the upper part of the tach, but only when my adjustable steering column is set low. I prefer the steering wheel low so I've decided to install an Autometer shift light so I don't have to hunch down to see the tach. I haven't installed it yet because I want it to be stealth. I've decided to install it behind the main center vent. It's a very visible spot since my left hand would be on the wheel and my right hand on the shifter when accelerating (hard). It would be eye level so there would be no problem with visibility.

I'll post pics when it's done.

This world is quickly becoming more and more accessible. 10 years ago it cost nearly $5000 to fly roundtrip to London from Tokyo---you can do it for about $500 this month.

I don't think that we should get scared off because a product isn't stocked on the shelves of the store down the street.

I was glad to help out Big Lun and joeytomato (he caught on to the original thread asking about the horn buttons, and wanted one too).

The Momo parts store owner really went out of his way to track down the ///M button, as they are a hard product to find in the first place.

The horn button looks great- glad that it worked out!

If anyone finds themselves in a pinch, needing to get something from Japan- drop me a pm.
