Well it seems I am fortunate enough to be taking a week or so off and traveling to Miami to start the Cannonball Run. Its a cross country rally with 400 other cars at the tune of $10K a pop. We are going in his 2006 Saleen S281 Extreme (575hp) which should be a whole lot of fun!

It so happens a good customer of mine has entered only to have his co-pilot back out at the last minute...........................

The whole thing will be videotaped and aired on Fox Sports Net. (the driver has a TV show on Saturdays "BJ Outdoors" -safaris and such-) so I'll keep you posted on the air time.

It should be a hell of an experience but as a consequence I'll likely be closing shop for about a week since my part time help isn't self-sufficient. Tenatively I will be closed from 7-26 to 8-04 give or take. Sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone.

Hopefully I'll be coming back in a one off Saleen which is the prize this year. Next year it's a million bucks cash.:buttrock

It should be mostly high end exotics, a few muscle cars, and the Batmobile from the last Batman movie. Should be pretty bad ass!

Thats is awesome, esp since I imagine you'll have some time behind the wheel. Come back in one piece, with an intact driver's license. And take pics, this is a one-in-a-lifetime!

Just make sure you don't end up in jail Justin. Should be a ton of fun though. I want lots of pictures posted when you get back.

Jail would pretty much suck, but getting to know a telephone pole off the freeway is what I'm concerned about.

That and a slight bit of apprehension given this will be my cameo national TV appearance. Its going to be aired over 13 weeks on Fox Sports Net ..........

Well we made it back in one piece from the Cannonball Run. We drove down to Miami then to New Orleans to San Antonio to Tucson to Las Vegas to Willow Springs Racetrack to downtown LA up to Santa Barbara and back to Vegas where I hopped a flight home and let the other guy drive back by himself. I'll get into details when I can................

It was fun but if i said the event was organized id be full of shit. The winner wasnt the guy to tried hardest to get the appropriate time but rather he was the guy with the biggest pocketbook. Total bullshit. Really i have mixed emotions about it. I saw some things i probably would have never seen and i did have a great time but this Tim Porter guy was scetchy at best. And for what its worth it wasnt cannonball anything, fucker sold the name and tried to use it anyway. By the time we were off the word cannonball was taboo.

When I get freed up I'll share some juicy details of some guy and his M5 doing 190mph in a 65 and the reaction of the California Highway patrol. sorry about the wait................................
