I was driving home from work today (I just moved from Orange County to San Diego) on the 15 south and I saw this:buttrock:

Sorry about the quality, they are cellphone pictures... it's the first time I've seen the one in person, and I have to say, even as a hatchback, I like it. The car has Baja plates.

I'm not sure what Baja plates are, but they sell the 1 series currently in Mexico. Seeing as you spotted it in SD I would have guessed it's a Mexican model. The fact that it's a 120i and appears to have a nice Latino woman driving it also helps. :)

Front Baja California plates, yes, that's a Mexican state. :)

When did Mexico start running the euro format plates? All of them I see around here are the same format as US plates. Maybe it's state by state down there.
