I sign a lot of stuff at work, so I've had an Cross Century II gold pen for over 8 years and it broke recently, so I send it back under their lifetime warranty expecting to either get my old pen back fixed or since 8 years is quite a while for the life of a pen, an offer to buy a new one at discount.
After 3 months and a few E mails back and forth regarding the status of the repair, I get a very nice call from A. T. Cross apologizing for the length of time and to inform me that they are unable to repair my pen and will be sending a new Century II with refills for free.
Wow, free replacement after 8 years of use with a new model too. Now that’s a warranty!

That is a company that stands behind their products, wish more companies did the same. I still have and use my Cross Pens, 4+ years and still going...:)

:DThe plastic on my Mont Blanc had cracked due to age and wear so I sent mine back. They replaced the plastic parts of the pen, polished and refurbished the Gold parts of the pen.
Looked like it was when it was brand new.
But no extra refills like you got:(

I love my U.S. Government Skilcraft ballpoint pen, in black of course...and if it breaks, I just go into the box of 12 and get another one...

Mont Blanc fixed my fountain pen nib for free and refurbed my pen. I have a resin Pelikan pen that cracked. Took it to the Honolulu Pen Shop and they sent it out and was repaired gratis. I wonder what has become of the Honolulu Pen Shop since Earl died.

I actually find that most high end pen manufacturers will take care of the small stuff gratis.
Montegrappa, Omas, Pelikan, etc. All great service. Might take a while but hard to complain when there's no cost involved.

to experiance the level of service, since much of the other "lifetime" warranty stuff I've experianced was either prorated, limited, equal or lesser value, at our discretion or just plain denied.
