Shortly after I bought my 1987 528e (new), the dome light stopped fading when I closed the door. It was then either ON or OFF...but no fading off.

I believe this is a simple issue such as a bad relay of some kind. Is this what I need?

I have lived without the dome light fading (it's either ON or OFF) for 20 years now, but would like to getting it working like it's supposed to.

I've never seen it fade in e28 or e34 for that matter.
