NO LONGER A FEELER, FOR SALE PRICE DROP.
I have now picked up a third bmw. To help fund my new project, Im eventually gonna have to sell this. This is my 1991 brilliantrot M5 with a build date of 3/90. It has black interior and is much cleaner than you may be able to tell in the pictures. It is a single owner Tx car, with 123k miles on it. A US spec, 3.6 liter, 4 seater, 5spd, beauty and a beast. I bougt her about 3 months ago, after searching for quite some time, and picked her up 2 days before I had to hop on a plane to head back to iraq. I will be back again in another month, and the first thing I plan on doing is taking it to terry sather automotive in austin, Tx. Terry sather has had several e34 m5s, and has been told by several to be a very knowledgeable and honest person, and I will be going their to get a full inspection when I return. She revs very freely and nice well in to the triple digits.
Now she is not perfect (yet) and heres why.
1. The Front DS door panel leather is pulling away. I have a perfect looking replacement panel on the way.
2. The center console to the right of the shifter is pulling away also. I have not yet ordered a replacement.
3. The paint is absolutely perfect, but the clear coat has come nearly completely off the roof.
4. The headliner is sagging. I have new anthracite material to replace.
5. The DS seat bolster is fading, it is not torn or ripped, just faded.
6. There is a whine coming from what sounds like the rear PS of the vehicle. Ive been told, and believe it is the compressor and that it needs to be replaced.
The car already has a dinan exhaust, dinan chip, bilstein shocks, and eibach sport springs. I believe they are the sport seats, I do not recall if they have memory, and I dont believe they are heated. It sits on lightweight bmw forged 17 x 8 all around. The calipers have also recently been rebuilt. The windows are tinted all around, but I do not know what percent.
The new parts that I have bought and will install when I return are; goodridge stainless steel brake lines, powerflex upper and lower control arm bushings, cabin air filter, stock and K&N air filters, bosch spark plugs, UUC evo 3 short shifter, Hella euro smoked headlights, smoked corners, digital HIDs with 5k bulbs pnp connectors and a lifetime warranty (these are not included any more to lower the price Im taking them with to use on my next project.), fuel filter, flex disc/guibo, adjustable sway bar end links, and stainless steel clutch line.
The nearly new parts include; dinan adjustable sway bars, set of 4 turbine covers, UUC black tranny mounts with enforcers, and brilliantrot kidney grills. I am not sure if there is more, since this is not even half of what I had planned.
I have a very thick stack of receipts from the owner who took it to the dealership for everything. I did not have time to go through or copy everything before I left. If anyone would like the VIN number to either run a carfax, or if you have better luck contacting someone about the service history, PM me for it, and If you dont mind, Id really appreciate getting the same info so I may pass it along to anyone interested.
I wish I could give definate dates, but heres the best I can do. I will be taking the car in to get a full inspection done, August 14-19th. I will be out of town, from the 19th until the 28th. Unless I get a serious sale, or deposit, the car will stay in TX, and Id rather put it back in storage then register it, keeping it where it is protected and as a single owner. My asking price is $12,000, and I am taking the HIDs with me. If you have any comments, questions, or polite suggestions, please post or PM me. I WILL NOW CONSIDER OFFERS, ON PARTS. If you would like to know what something cost or what I would to take for it, I will post and gladly take that off the asking price. Without any further wait. THE PICS.
