hey guys

i obviously own a US m3 but have the chance to pick up some ITB's.. now getting them installed wont be difficult but i know that your motors have a higher compression than the US ones right? so im probly gonna have to get a new HG but i was wondering what kind of compression ratio would be good to get for my motor. thanks

your barking up the wrong tree.

get yourself a 3.5" hfm, some software, intake, headers, trackpipe, catback, pullies.

there i just saved you the biggest headache of your live.

i have almost all of those things including a 3.2l obd-1 almost new motor with port and polish, a good tune with benefit me a lot but this is pretty much just a thread to get some info on, if it is a terrible idea, could you at least let me know why?

they don't bolt on, you need to have adaptor plates machined, and modify your oil filter housing to fit them, and that is just the start, they are different motors completely

is it BMW ITB or Dbilas?

how different are the intake port sizes??

the M3 ITB would work well if u had the M3 euro head, exhaust, and bottom end so the internals can cope with the extra revs

if your going to stick with the US motor, stick to the tried and tested mod that have proven to make power and work correctly with that engine.

if your absolutely dying for ITB's do a euro 3.2 swap, or buy an e46 m3.

bummer, just seemed like a cost effective way to make more power... cams are probly going to be my next upgarde along with a good tune, but im thinking possibly superchager but that is more $$$ than i want to pay at this time so i guess i'll just sit on it. thanx for the responses guys. btw, assuming i wanna hit no lower than 280whp in case you wanna throw me any ideas. thanx

forced induction or euro swap are only options for 280+ civilised rwhp that can drive happily in traffic
