Thanks to Lowes f-ing up our special order I need help tracking down two items for the house so we can close Thursday:

Tried all the usual suspects like Lowes and Homo Depot and now I need some help tracking the last two items down. Any suggestions for appliance ven-duhs?

so it has to have them or you can't close?

I looked at a house that was gutted before, and that didn't seem to be an issue........

yep...part of how the value was calculated.

that's cutting it thin.

My last two I bought 20K under apraised value....

I guess it's the price you pay for buying in a high demand area. I'd love to live where you are buying at, but I can't make myself afford it.

It's not bad now - we're in the last affordable pocket by the lake (sub $200k). I think in 3-4 years it's going to get nutty in that neighborhood.

you might also try sears and they also have a sears appliance outlet inside grapevine mills mall....might find something there. also best buy is where i bought my stuff. could be a good deal if you find coupons and savings on like slickdeals.net or something like that.

problem looks like it might be solved. i think we're putting the old shit in until Sunday when the stuff can be delivered. It's amazing what happens when you get the Regional VAP of Lowes on the phone and don't use the word "cocksucker"

You're the seller? We had a similar issue. We offered a cash rebate for the value of the item at closing (in the form of a check) and that was acceptable to everyone.

we're the buyers. The house had, um, vintage appliances in it.

And they're paying for the new appliances? If so, that's cool; they should be able to cut you a check then. If they aren't paying for them, it shouldn't hold up escrow.
