Anyone know what to do about leather seats that are cracked? Also, any thoughts on changing the 5-sp manual to 6-sp in a 99 M-3? Thanks, Tom

You can change your 5spd to a 6spd for about $3,500 worth of parts, then add labor.

In the end you have 5 identical gears, with a overdrive 6th, and that much more weight.

Seats get recovered with new leather.

wow that was special.

6 spd is good if you want OD for the highway. Works well if you have something other than stock 3.23 rear diff. I believe the 3.91 lsd out of the verts mated with the 6 spd will net you the same final drive ratio.

seat leather, there are a few places online you can order replacement skins for them and remove/replace the factory leather.

Hope that helps.

Russia left his seat covers at Brandons. I'm sure he's sell them to you...

Actually, it depends on your goals for the seats. To have them redone with the French stitching is going to run you $1200+ if they are Va-duhs. It might be cheaper to troll the boards for seats - I've seen nice sets for $800-$1000

currently have:
3.15 lsd
3.73 open
3.91 lsd
3.23 lsd

the 3.73 ring and pinion are going on the 3.15 lsd carrier soon. then I'll junk the 3.15. A 3.73 with my other mods should make the M3 move.
