So I go out and buy a 32mm wrench because the head of my adjustable wrench is too big thick and won't fit between the back of the clutch and bolts holding the pulley to the water pump...and then I get home to find out the head of 32mm wrench is also too thick.

I can only assume this is already an after market replacement hence the shitty design...or is there some secret BMW thin head 32mm open ended wrench I need to special order from a cave in Bavaria?

Go to a bike shop and request a Park Tool's 32mm Head Set Wrench. Alternatively call Zelenda (http://www.zelenda.com/index.html) and order a Hazet 450 N-27 x 32 which will be a 32mm and 27mm dual open end wrench. The 27mm works for the inner tie rod ball joints ON AN E30.

I bought a $10 wrench and ground it down. Alternatively, http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=6652&itemType=PRODUCT
