SO, i was on my way home from work about a half hour ago when this happened. I had driven maybe 5 miles when i saw a friend of mine and pulled over and shut off the car (it had been raining at a fairly good rate 10 min before). we didnt take long before setting of on our own ways, maybe 2 minutes, when i started my car and pulled back out i was gonna be a hot shot and spin a bit o' tire on the wet pavement but as soon as i go over 2k rpm i had no power at all... then it slowly reved to about 3k and wouldnt go past that? i varied from WOT to average throttle during this period with no change. any ideas?? i do have a check engine light for an o2 sensor (in the mail) but that doesnt sound like an o2 sensor to me. my guess was inadequate fuel pressure? but why? it cleared up in the next mile or 2.

try "s4" if you havent already, regular D (economic mode) trys to get the best fuel efficiency.

could be a lot of things.

clog cats
bad plugs
bad ignitor
bad MAF

if you washed your engine recently it can be water in the spark plug channels

Your computer entered "limp home mode" which is not related to the tranny, but the engine. If the engine senses something potentially damaging or wrong, It will limit your RPM's to around 3-3.5k. I just reset my battery and it goes away, but my car sat for 2 years and had to "work things out" a bit... so it finally stopped doing it after a full set of fluid, plug changes.

same with me. burnouts stay at 2100 and won't go past. also got an engine check light.
