I am looking for assistance to black out my front grill this weekend. I've heard it's really easy, but I'm still looking for help, because I am not mechanically inclined, and inept with instructions. I'm in Framingham, MA, and I can meet up with someone anywhere in the Boston area.

It's really easy to do. Have you ever removed your grills before? If not it isn't difficult but you do have to use some force, they snap together, look from the inside for the slots where a screwdriver goes, slide one in and press/gently bang them apart. Once you have the chrome surround just sand it down so it's smooth, spray a coat or two of primer (lightly sanding after each coat), then apply several coats of your paint. I used Rustoleum Flat Black enamel and it worked out very well. I searched around a bit and this seemed to be the best paint for looks and durability (no rock chips for me yet).

I've never removed the grill before. That's why I'm asking for help. Anyways, can I buy everything I need at Home Depot?

paint thinner
rustoleum gray primer
rustoleum flat black spray paint
400 grit sandpaper
