IMAGE&STYLE 02-25-2003, 02:36 PM Call the following places: GRD PERFORMANCE 630-369-2800 or Exhaust Works (dont have their number) Both do great work, i know GRD will charge you for an inspection where as Exhuast works will not and they are very honest to deal with! KM3_PWR 02-26-2003, 09:51 AM So you have let these shops work on your car or cars? What do they charge compared to the dealer? IMAGE&STYLE 02-26-2003, 10:17 AM Exhuast works has done all the Suspension and Brake work on all of my buddies and my car's. They Charge depending on what kind of job it is + their inspection is free. GRD Performance has done Dyno's for me in the past. GRD Tech's used to be Audi Technicians are are highly qualified to work on any and all European car's. They charge a flat rate of : $63.00 an hour, make sure you let them know that Tab Sent you. Nimble 02-26-2003, 11:46 PM Originally posted by IMAGE&STYLE Bill Jacob's Motorsport charges a $75 fee just to look at your car. yeah Bill Jacobs blows......they tried to charge me $700 for new front rotors and a driver's side caliper....I bought the stuff from Bimmerparts.com and had it installed at Max Motorsports in Rockford for $450 total KM3_PWR 02-27-2003, 10:00 AM Tab, I called GRD and they're rate is 75.00 per hour. Are you getting a special rate or did they up the price that much? Anyway, GRD is about 3 mile from my apt. so I will probably go with them, just wanted to keep the cost as low as possible. Let me know if you think you can help me out with GRD. Thanks. IMAGE&STYLE 02-27-2003, 12:26 PM Did you call Exhuast Works? I would personally go there since they have a larger customer base and dont charge as much as most little shops. Yeah, I just called up GRD and looks like they bumped up the price to : $70 to $80. I also have another Mechanic, over on Ogden and River Road called : PRO-TECH Silver740 02-27-2003, 01:13 PM I personally would go w/ a dealer. I've had many clutches replaced at Patrick BMW. They give you a loaner for the time your car is in service and usually get it done pretty quickly. My costs on labor have been approx. $600-$650 and I bought the OEM clutch assembly myself from www.bimmerparts.com for around $250 for both the M3 and 540. Its also usually a good idea to get your flywheel replaced at this time IMO (either go w/ a high performance lightweight one, or an OEM flywheel). Good luck! KM3_PWR 02-27-2003, 02:19 PM Tab, I checked with exhaust works, they don't really do clutch work. I really need to get this problem fixed , so I think I will just go with GRD. 75.00 is not bad compared to the local dealer, they wanted 105.00 per hour. And I was planning on getting new wheels too. Just my luck. Silver740, It's not really the clutch, it's the clutch pedal hydrolics. i have no pressure to return the clutch pedal to it's original position.
