I've always liked the subcompacts, so I decided to check out that big seller, the Yaris, today. The car is a geat deal, the hatch comes pretty loaded up for under 14K! Also, the space in the car is just amazing. You can move the rear seats forward and back, to give more storage or leg room. You can fold the seats down for uber storage. ANd in the front, wow. I took a picture of the storage I was so amazed. It opens up in front of the steering wheel as well:

Unfortunately, it was a car that I would have liked better if I never drove it. I was expecting this, but it was worse than I thought it would be. The car was just soft and mushy in every aspect you can be soft and mushy in. In acceleration, in brakes, in steering, and suspension. The other cons of the car: no ABS and no RPM tach! Just killed the car for me.

It's a great car if you don't want to think about anything. Great reliability, great fuel economy, hell, you don't even have to think when you drive it!

One funny thing. The sales guy didn't see me drive up. But after I commented that I liked to feel more connected and have more communication with the car he commented "so you're more of a BMW person". Yep, hit the nail on the head.

Fit is more driver oriented. If Fits were available and leased out as well as my Accord, I'd be driving that instead of the V6 6-speed.

I drove one of these in Greece ( My cousin owns one) and your right, it's an excellent value for the money. In typical Toyota fashion, it has no driver involvement whatsoever, but it's a great buy for someone looking for a reliable dd that doesn't care. I'm still waiting for the first Toyota/Lexus that interests me.
