Hey all, I was wondering if the US / aftermarket exhaust/catback bolts on to a Euro 3.0 OEM cat ? I really want to replace my catback, its some Euro aftermarket unit and its really loud. Has anyone had any luck installing the US version Rogue Engg twin silencer exhaust on the Euro cat without hacking it ?

I heard that the Rogue DMS and UUC RSC36 exhaust bolt up to the eurospec piping. You should call both companies to confirm.

I did speak to both UUC and Rogue. UUC said it would fit, Rogue didnt know if it would fit or not. My question is, how can the US version of Rogue or UUC fit and not the stock US unit if what "morerevsm3" says is right about the pipe diameters ?

US spec catbacks will not fit an eurospec car withouth having to modify them, I got eisenmann race, perfect fit, awesome sound.

did you have to special order a euro version ?

Is the Euro 3.0 cat the same size as US cats? Might be why... i'm not sure if only the Euro 3.2 exhaust is larger?

there are at least 2 different versions of the Euro M3 3.0 exhaust.
The older ones from 1993 had a shorter cat back and also different cats.

My 1993 M3 had the short version. I tried to fit a supersprint for a later M3. It didn't fit. Muffler was too long.

madspeed, you should ask UUC what the diameter of the piping is from the cats to the can.

i dunno people are telling me the exhaust cant be 60mm, i went back to the exhaust shop that fit the dual 50mm to get a dual 60 instead, they showed me that the stock piping after the 3-1 header is 50mm..(which i have ~10cm of) why would bmw make it 50mm and then make the rest of the exhaust 60mm

The diameter increases to 60mm immediately after the header-cat flange.

The Supersprint euro header has 60mm collectors. I've heard that the additional 10mm does apparently hurt low-end torque. I can't confirm this, though.

BLAKE AuSTAs long as it's 60mm it'll fit. I've heard that UUC and Rogue are two aftermarket tuners in the US that offer exhausts that fit eurospecs. Just be sure to confirm this before you buy.

fwiw, i love my SS race exhaust. Perfect sound, just loud enough.

Would anyone be interested in a set of test pipes. I am getting a set made for my car. Basically cut out your old cats, weld a flange on either end, and bolt up the test pipes, simple, very cheap, and effective. Obviously not nearly as nice as the SS ones, but for less than $100 y not.

A B&B Triflow fits nicely on my Euro exhaust system, after a muffler shop expanded the catback pipe and installed a larger flange to accept the Euro midpipes. Cost about fifty bucks for the work and the swap. But man, is that sucker LOUD now. Much louder than when the Triflow was on one of my S52's. Must be the larger pipes and higher compression?

Where is the best place to buy the SS race exhaust? Is it the only full headers-back bolt on solution? I assume it's wildly expensive?

^^^ Sexy.

I keep hearing about the SS mid pipe and cats. Where can I find info on this?

Are there any other bolt-up full exhausts that have the proper diameter?

http://www.supersprintna.com/ aka BMP. They carry US and Euro SS products. SS makes a full system for the euro cars, not sure on any gains from the headers or cat less mid pipes.

FYI that SS Euro race muffler SG has took about 2-3 months to get after ordering it. BMP only gets 7-8 per year they said.

Damn, you guys have me itching for a SS catback! Damn this heavy hunk of crap! I can't even hear the engine in my own videos.

How much does that SS Euro unit weigh?

SG_M3
08-03-2007, 02:03 AM
Its not light, i'd say 3x lb range. Def. lighter than the stock unit. And it sounds soo good, its worth it to get the race unit just for that. Not overly loud, but just enough sound.

I have a SS euro resonator on my e36. Before the RSC36 was available, I had
inquired with Rob at UUC if the TSE would bolt up, he said it would. It did not.

Ended up modifying things to fit. Great sounding, but way too loud for street,
not to mention some tracks.
