I think he is just compensating for something else...

I really wouldn't consider that thing "mobile" since it took 10 hours to assemble and they had to use some large cranes. I personally think it is too much. But I guess they are expecting a lot more press coverage and stuff. They probably paid for it with the money they are getting from people wanting to sponsor Hamilton, while McLaren is only paying him $300K a year.

Plus a $10,000 bonus per point... anyway I do agree that it seems excessive, but F1 is a sport of excessiveness.
