I bought a 1998 M Roadster about three weeks ago locally with 37,000 miles on it. So far, the car is simply amazing. It looks like the original owner did a little to it, but beyond a plug-in chip from Dinan, I honestly can't tell what. I'd really like to meet up with another M owner to find out a little first hand from someone who knows these cars (ie: what the heck is this/that and is my subframe in danger of falling apart and killing me?). So far the only thing I've done was to replace the original tape player with an HD CD player but if I know myself well enough, that's a minor mod compared to what I'll probably do in the future.

A little background on me: I traded in my 2003 Nissan maxima that was pretty well modified for SCCA use (coil-overs, big brake kit, light(er) weight rims, intake, headers, under-drive pulley, 17 degree timing advance, ect, ect...). I'm a member of Maxima.org still even though I sold the old max. Their local guys are a tight-knit group and throw some pretty good meets. I hope you guys are the same way!

As I mentioned, I do some SCCA events. Mainly autocross at Ripkin with the maxima guys. Gawd! I can't wait to take the M out! If anyone knows of an event coming up that you're participating in, please let me know!

ive seen the pics but I still don't know where to look. The threads are a little vague for a noob to figure out how to tell if they're affected. I've been a tad paranoid since I saw the threads on it...
