Does anyone know about the Salzman (sp) Motors BMW shop in Wilsonville? You can see the sign from southbound I5. Just wondering if they are any good or if they should be avoided?

thanks,

andy

I had an engine swap done there and everything went perfectly! The guys that work and own the place might not be the best people persons but they sure know their BMW's. I have had all my service on my car done there since.

Great, thanks for the insight.

I will call them and see how much it would cost to do the RTAB's.

thanks,

RTAB = Rear Trailing Arm Bushing

A lot of the E36 guys have been harping about changing them lately. If they they go unchecked some damage could result in the mounting points. There are a couple of solutions out on the market that help the situation. Do a search for RTAB's and you find way more than you have ever wanted to know...

I talked to the BMW shop. Over the phone he figured about $600 just for labor. He did mention that he has never seen that part fail on a car under 100,000 miles. Seems kinda spendy for a $15 part... Maybe I will try it myself

I've heard that they're pretty good too. A little shady I guess in some of their business processes, but they know their BMWs.

Can they do SC?

I know matrix engineering on Macadam can do a SC install. Their shop rate is $60/hr but if you are on DTM then you get a 10% discount so that brings it down to $54.

I actually did my SC install myself but it was a PITA. :)

DTM is a really cool website that a lot of PDXers go to. I'm on there all the time... check it out.
