View Full Version : After 39 yrs - back in the 'family' Frank B 06-29-2007, 11:39 AM Well after 39 years I have rejoined the BMW 'family'. In 1968 I bought a BMW 2002 (a great car). Yesterday my wife and I picked up our 2007 328 XI sedan with Steptronic. I have to say that my first impression is that it is a great car! Love the taut handling and ride. When I was born my parents had a 320i and in 1987 (when I was 3) they bought a brand new 325is Alpine White/black that became my first car when I turned 16. 20 years later I'll have my first new BMW (and although I wanted the coupe, I couldn't wait till October for one) when it gets here in 6ish weeks. Lots of other vehicles in the interim -- they were OK, but nothing more than OK. I felt the same "this is what it's supposed to be like" feeling with the new 328 as I did with the 1800TI.
