Hi,

I just move into an apartment in La Jolla/UTC area. The problem is that my apartment doesn't allow car wash, I would like to know whether if anyone who is familar with the area can let me know where I can wash my car. Several apartment around mine has a car wash area, but they have lock them up for their own tenants. If anyone in the area of the church can duplicate the key or something. I will be glad to pay for the replacement.

UC is not considered la jolla, big misunderstanding with people now-a-days, anything west of gilman drive is like 30grand more than the east side....................... if u did live in la jolla i'd advise you to take ur car to the pearl car wash on pearl ave, but thats la jolla which ur not in.......

I was talking about UTC(University Town Center) not University City. Some of the condors by UTC share the same area code (92037) as downtown La Jolla. By saying La Jolla/UTC, I mean the upper part of La Jolla area, not downtown area. got that?!?!

Bimmer96 - I used to live around there. I was lucky to have friends that lived in houses where they would let me wash my car. I know that down on Gennessee and Clairmont Mesa Blvd, there is a do-it-yourself car wash. You like pay for a certain amount of time for water and hose. I've never used it personally, but I heard about it.

I live right by UTC. I'd say take your car to the place Robert mentioned down on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

BTW, La Jolla is WEST of I-5. Regardless of whether some of the apartments and condos up here in northern UC are in the 92037 zip, it's still UC/Golden Triangle. LJ is over across the freeway. And I've lived in UC for 16 years. Trust me on this one.

Wow I never knew ppl were so uptight about what is or is not technically considered La Jolla.

Anyway, don't they have self-serve carwashes around there? Just go to one of those. I don't think you need proof of residency to go to a car wash. ;)

Thanks for all of the information.

It doesn't really matter whether it's call UC or La Jolla/UTC. As long as you know what i am talking about, and i can be able to bring up my point. I understand UTC is a mall, but i want to let people know where is it about. If I just stated as La Jolla, people will assume downtown LJ. Thanks CarbonBlkE36 for being so persistence.

There is a hose in the guest parking area of my apartment for residents. You can sneak in here before 6pm (when they close the gate) and wash your car :devillook

E-mail me to get the location.

MaoMao, is it just me, or does your info say "Bay Area".

I think that Bimmer96 was just trying to convey a general point of reference. But some people have a very large stick up their ass when it comes to where La Jolla is or isn't. Typically it's either those who live there or those who whish they did.

MojoMoto, you are right. I was just want to locate where I want to wash my car. San Diego is a big county. To be more accurate, I wrote LJ/UTC, to identify the upper part of LJ. For people who think the upper part of La Jolla should be University City. Please look at the address of UCSD, they are in the city of La Jolla.

LOL. It's not that big of a deal. Too many people think they live in La Jolla because they're in the La Jolla zipcode though.

got your point. No wonder UCSD is call UCSD instead of UCLJ(La Jolla) heehee
