Sorry for two threads in one day.

I have two Silverline tailpipe tips that are on the ends of my stock tailpipes, and in the past month or two I've noticed a little bit of white corrosion where the two items meet. I have never seen this before, and was wondering why it started all the sudden, and what product or method to use to make sure it doesn't happen again. If I don't have to buy anything then I won't, but if there is a great rust-proofing product everyone would recommend for a '88 528 then it'd be appreciated.
