Im driving West on Rt.7 today towards Leesburg, VA. I am stopped at a light, 2nd in line in the left hand lane. As the light changes, we get up to speed (about 60-65mph), and Im pacing the car in front of me. There is a black Altima coming up fast behind me, and I notice no one is in the middle lane, so I stay behind the lead car so the Altima can go by unfettered in the middle lane.

As the Altima passes me, I get the middle finger from him. Feeling that this gesture was unwarranted, I follow him. He then proceeds to go full throttle, and I stick to him. At about 100mph, I pull up to his rear bumper in the adjacent lane, and he slams on his brake and swerves to almost hit me. We go through several [green] lights at increasing speeds of up to 120mph. I know this is poor etiquite and probably scaring the other drivers [fortunately light traffic], but I wasn't going to let this guy go.

Well, after another mile, I backed off to around 85mph, and he continued at over 100mph. Up ahead, I see the light turning red, and he was forced to stop in the middle lane. As I was rolling up on him, I pulled in to the right hand lane to pull along side him. Once I got about 300 yards from him and closing, he took off THROUGH THE RED LIGHT, and continued to speed into Leesburg.

I never thought I would chase someone, but I wanted to let him know that I thought his gesture was inappropriate. Maybe if someone else sees him you could let him know. It was a Black Altima 2.5, like an 02-05 MY, tinted windows, VA Plates KCU-2699.

1) street racing/chasing is bad mmmmmkay?
2) what a doosh, but then again its Nova, and its full of shitty drivers so why bother.

If i had a penny for every time someone gave me the finger, cursed at me, or was an asshat to me on the road, I'd be almost $10 richer i suppose, lol. Still why bother, you have a red, loud car, if you push like that eventually you will be caught, and I'm sure a ticket for 120 in a 55 would suck.

Kick his ass, Seabass!

Just think about what they could have knocked you for if you were caught. Reckless and offensive driving, road rage, etc... they would have put you in a straight jacket, stuck you in a circle padded room and told you to sit in the corner.

UFB! God you hate to think about that poor cross traffic driver getting ready to die after seeing crap like that. for the black altmia driver dying is what every- natural selection is good.

Yesterday comming out of WV on RT9 had 3 cars in front- 1st guy turning left and 2 oncomming cars. Dip shit woman in suv pulls out to pass the bunch I guess- wtf was she thinking. I lay on the horn and let her in front of me all the while laying on the horn so EVERYBODY know how stupid she is. Why don't natural selection work anymnore?

It seems like anyone will give the finger and act like a complete moron these days. I especially love it when someone blatently cuts off/pulls out in front of me and I simply shake my head and I get the finger. I mean, why the hell are you telling me to F*** myself when you're the idiot?

Thats why I respond to the finger with a thumbs up...

...That is unless they give me the double middle fingers.

Awesome. Road rage. Way to make the road more dangerous for the rest of us.

Think about it this way, if he gets that upset over some tiny perceived mistake that you made: How miserable must the rest of his life be? Just smile to yourself and go about your commute. Don't engage these people, its a battle to be the bigger idiot, and you don't want to be the winner of that war.

Let me make sure I understand this.

In Va..the Commonwealth..of all places..where they will toss you IN jail and can arrest you ON THE SPOT for traveling at triple digit speeds...

A guy gives you an "inappropriate" gesture....and you felt the "need" to chase him at 120mph on Rt 7?? WTF?

What were you going to do to him once you caught him? Am I missing something here?

There is something very important to keep in mind when you encounter a fool on the road.

VIRGINIA IS A RIGHT TO CARRY STATE.

You need to treat EVERYONE you encounter as if they had a loaded pistol in the vehicle.

You're right. I dont mind admitting it was not the best thing to do. Clearly it was not a wise decision to chase someone at that speed for nothing. Im not championing the cause of chasing down people. But being human, sometimes you just react, has everyone here never let an emotion cloud judgement? Its not that I was furious, I was pretty chill, but I wanted to make the guy re-think flicking someone off. I wasn't going to pull the guy out of the car and try to get violent.

But when he tried to run me off the road, yeah, I got a little unnerved, and thats when the speeds climbed so high. I haven't done that speed on the highway for a long time. I'll admit it is irresponsible, and the consequences are not worth it.

I get mad at morons on the road who stupid things but at the end of the day, what good does it do if you have a run in with a total psycho? A month or 2 ago, I had a guy who was displeased with the concept of merging 2 lanes into 1 with alternating cars going in 1 from the left and 1 from the right.

He promptly drove out onto the emergency lane and cut me off. While I was fairly angry about this bone head (who was in his 50's with his wife in an audi), I showed my displeasure by give him some brights, after that, what are you going to do?

If you really get mad, call the police and report an aggressive driver. MD and VA have hotlines to report people like this (because of the increase of aggressive driving and road rage). It makes your day (:devillook) and it puts them in a spot if they get a ticket in the future.

And this thread is funny as hell, usually i just lurk but this was too good of a thread to pass up. props to iseguy, and op for the slurpy comment to andy and jed for the bump.

On a more serious note the altima is slightly quicker then the M3, the M3 can probably take it in the twistys and has a better interior but the altima is quick off the line. I know because I own both an altima and an M3. And an Opel Kadett which is the best of both worlds.

And let's just let this thread die. Joe made a mistake and realized it so let's not embarass him by bumping the thread with "LOL" or anything stupid. I'm going to lead by example by putting it to the top so people can see this post and not post anymore.

This morning I was going to NoVA and I saw a few black Altimas. I didn't remember the license plate that joenationwide posted, so as a pre-emptive measure, I shook my fist and yelled at all of them.

I got your back bro!!!!!

Who is Joe? The Altima driver? Some guy named "Scottie" (who at this point in the thread..has GOTTA be WISHING Kirk would beam HIM up) was the M3 Chaser.

That sounds like a drink the Altima guy would order at a bar. "Yeah..I'll have a beer with a E36 M3 Chaser please? Thanks"

He isn't speaking English. He is writing it.

:laugh

Sadly, you are probably being serious. :(

HAHAA no I'm not serious at all. I have no idea what the dispute is about... I'm just joining in on the bashing. I just posted a few random comments for comedic value to keep my work day sane.

Wow everyone is really spun up on this one..... my 2 cents. have fun
do it safely, ensure you minimize risk to others.
If they are really want to kill them selves just steer clear and let em go. now if your out on that part of 7 going towards WV, I know my buddies routinely do about 80 thru there. but the sheriff's dept is usally up running radar up there along with State.
now with the new 1000.00 bouns fine in affect July 1st here in VA for anyting 20 and over, just enjoy that bill.

If you all elect me to President of the united states i will abolish speed limits and take away DL's from incompentent idiots. set Very strignent rules on driving like everyone must pass the 9 day high speed road couse at FLETC. If you cant read or speak english then you get stuck with a moped and a reflective vest. and lastly if you want to be reckless then you go to Jail.
so turn off the cell phone and drive the car.

What if one can't write properly? Does he or she still get stuck with a reflective vest and a sank in dejection or listless apathy?

Good! And yes I've had moments like those too, but I try to resist and keep myself from going off. I might get angry as hell and get pissed off, but I don't do something to the point of endangering lives of others or something serious, I just move on and try to get past it.

yeah i did my part for a b.f.c. bro today too!!! I forgot the liscence plate you listed and then I forgot if your location was VA or rodos greece. So I saw one almera (the euro version of the altima) so I pulled them over by cutting them off and slamming on my brakes. After that I pulled them out of the car and told gave them a good old fashion ass-whipping. I bet you that lady doesn't f#*% with you again bro!!!!!!111

Sun. afternoon in Beltway traffic somehow my hand resting on the console triggered the hazards while passing some new Camry, it incited him to zoom up to and pass me, but pussyfoot it in the 270 curve. :stickoutt

And I was driving an Acura TL down 395, as I passed some rinkydink econocar, it immediately jumped out into the left lane behind me and rode my bumper, wtf. A brake check straightened that out and dumbo decided that playing games with someone may not be such a good idea. :rolleyes

Idiots are what's causing all the "aggressive driving" by common sense drivers. :mad

Nah, I like it when I see them get all bent out of shape standing on their brakes. Mind you I have not done anything beforehand to get them that way.
