I'm looking to loose the "fat" OEM bumpers from my 1976 2002. I've seen some real slick looking aftermarket front air dams and bumpers, excluding the euros which look great. My question is: can I simply remove the front and rear bumpers? These cars look really trick when they are removed. Is there any law requiring bumpers?
Second, if anyone has experience in this, how much body work is involved once the bumpers are removed?
Thanks.

I just took the bumpers off my 76 '02, the bumpers are easy to remove just a couple of bolts. The part that requires a little more effort is, there is some welding that has to be done to fill the holes where the bumpers mount. It wasn't hard if you can weld in panels and do body and paint work. It also looks real sweet, I didn't much care for the aftermarket spoilers because they are to square, and loosing the bumpers totally was a great option.
