View Full Version : Ohio folk ?? maz 02-20-2003, 05:37 PM Anyone is in Cincinnati or close to it? (OH) ASCH MAN 02-20-2003, 06:00 PM Originally from Cincy, but live in Columbus now. Used to drive by "The BMW Store" on 71 as a child. maz 02-20-2003, 06:02 PM hehehe... yea, store is still there... :) comming to Cincy at all? ...anybody else? Don't be shy :) abakos 02-20-2003, 10:07 PM Hey maz-- spotted you in the 5er forum, welcome!! I'm up towards cleveland, our BMWCCA chapter is pretty active up here!! You'll have to come up for one of the drives :) Don't know many guys from cinci, but don't be a stranger!! maz 02-21-2003, 10:45 AM Hey abakos! Yea, I'd love to join you guys...just let me know when you have something big planned :) abakos 02-21-2003, 02:41 PM www.nohiobmwcca.org The calendar for the year was just posted-- Check it out! The Z3 drives are fun, open to pretty much any German car :) The last one in 2002 (my first drive also) had a new bug and a CLK along with the 2-seaters. maz 02-21-2003, 04:00 PM man...this what I call being alive... :) Bunch of events! Will consider to join some of them. Howlong is a drive to Cleveland from Cinti? Renee M Coupe 02-21-2003, 07:12 PM Looks like your chapter does a great job! Great Events list. Maybe I should look into some of the Z3 events. Check out Dent Fest/Dyno day in Columbus on April 19th. Renee '99 M Coupe DaveCN 02-22-2003, 04:50 PM It would be great to get a Cincy area drive together - perhaps hit some of the twisties along the river - after the snow melts, that is!:alright ASCH MAN 02-22-2003, 10:57 PM Cincinnati has a lot of fun hills. Columbus feels like the whole city is flat. [///M3]Stud 02-23-2003, 07:38 PM What up all. I'm anxiously awaiting good weather and I am wondering if we could get a club or something together. Maybe meet once a month up till october ??? Just a feeler. abakos 02-24-2003, 10:45 AM We're a step ahead of you-- www.nohiobmwcca.org Check the calendar!! BFC member jblack is the membership chair. maz 02-24-2003, 10:46 AM well, then let's plan something - as soon as the weather cleares out... abakos 02-24-2003, 10:53 AM Originally posted by Renee M Coupe Looks like your chapter does a great job! It's tempting though :) I've only been on 1 Z3 drive, and it was an awesome time!! I managed to keep up with the M-Roadsters that were leading the pack, although I spent a good bit of the time sideways ;) Our CCA chapter is awesome though. I've been involved since last summer. It's a great time. We do all kinds of stuff, and kudos to the officers for doing such a great job! (;) -jb) From Cinci to Cleveland...hrm...Mapquest give me about 250 miles, so that should equate to 4 hours. In the wee hours of the morn' you could probably shave a bit off that :D DaveCN 02-24-2003, 10:59 AM To get some Cleveland and Columbus people in - what about a Hocking Hills Drive? I have a great set of plans from a friend in the porsche club that maps out some awesome roads. Come May it will be beautiful with everything back to green. Who is in for that? maz 02-24-2003, 11:17 AM I am in! I don't care - I just want to drive... :) Matthew C Smith 02-24-2003, 11:25 AM Sounds good to me! Check out Dent Fest/Dyno Day '03! http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66887 I'll be there :D jblack 02-24-2003, 12:55 PM See you there, Matt...Natalie and I are going! Bring some of your famous CF Roundels and make yourself a buck! I'd probably be up for 2 more sets of wheel Roundels. I'm leaving from Kent, so maybe I'll see you on the way down :D Renee M Coupe 02-24-2003, 07:17 PM I am up for a drive! If only the snow would go away! I have not driven my Coupe since mid-November. It is driving me nuts! Hocking Hills has some great back roads, but I do not know my way around very well. Looking forward to meeting more Ohio BMW people. Renee '99 M Coupe '90 Jetta GLI BMLRacer 02-24-2003, 11:20 PM Mr Black, If you plan on attending DF&DD, plan on bringing me the apology that you owe me. Otherwise, you're not welcome. Brian jblack 02-25-2003, 12:12 AM Brian, PM me (I see I can't PM you). Don't know what this is about... I don't think I know you.... BMLRacer 02-25-2003, 12:21 AM Precisely my point. You don't know me, but you sure felt the need to bag on me during the TbR deal. I'm sure that should help your memory. I came through on my end, so I'll be expecting an apology from your end. jblack 02-25-2003, 12:46 AM Brian, I would think that if you had an issue with the way other and I felt you handled that situation, you would rather have that discussion one-on-one rather than in public. Yes, you did come through in the end and I do applaud you for that; however I will not be relaying to you an apology for the statements that I made that were critical of how you handled the situation, as I stand by them. I was unaware that you were involved with this event, but I don't think that would have swayed my opinion to attend or not. If you are uncomfortable with me attending, that is OK - it's your gig. I will withdraw my request to attend, unless you would like to discuss further privately via PM or E-mail available in my profile. Sorry you feel this way....John BMLRacer 02-25-2003, 01:08 AM John, Here is why I'm upset with you. You neither made nor offered any support to the TbR project, yet you felt the right to heap on insults when the chips were down. I wouldn't be upset if you had posted along the lines of "bum deal, I hope he gets it sorted out", but for you to have called me a "amoral jerkoff" and other personal attacks is just plain wrong. I don't know you, you don't know me. Instead of emailing me (I've made my email address so public that it hurts, BL5194@aol.com) with your concerns about how it was going down, you got personal. So yes, when you sign up for an event the I put together (neither Chris or I make a single penny from the events, we do them for the general good of the community we consider to be friends), I get pissed. I'm not asking you to say that you're sorry for being critical of the fiasco that was TbR, I'm asking you to apologize for calling me names. If you feel that you're unable to do that, please don't come. If you can man up and say that you're sorry (I did, it doesn't hurt), we'll shake hands and put it behind us. Hell, I might even put a TbR shirt in your hands. DF&DD is a great day, I don't want any bad feelings ruining it. If you'd like to chat with me further, please email me or PM Bimmer95 for my cell phone number. Brian abakos 02-25-2003, 08:41 AM :pityfool: I'm sorry, wtf is the TbR project? Hammm3 02-25-2003, 09:20 AM Hope you two work this out. John is a good guy - he and his wife do a lot for the NEO chapter, and attend many if not all the events. This event sounds like a lot of fun. How many people came last year? Anyone in Cleveland want to meet up that morning and drive down together - I have four of us on this end jblack 02-25-2003, 10:04 AM Brian, I will e-mail you and take this off line, as we both remember when this took on a life of its own last time this was on the board - this will be my last public post on the subject. I don't need to rehash the detail of TbR - those that know know, and those that don't can wonder. I will say that my "amoral jerk-off" comment came at a time when you were not responding here and when you did respond, you did come through. Since you did, I will retract and apologize for that statement here publicly. You are right that there isn't room for name calling here. I know you have apologized for your handling of the TbR program. I'm sure you're not as bad a guy as you seemed during the fiasco, and I'll bet I'm not the ogre I'm sure you think I am. With our shared geography, it is best for us and all that "we just get along". ASCH MAN 02-25-2003, 10:38 AM Renee, this Dublin weather is Horrible. I have put about 100 miles in the past two months on my car and it is my daily driver. My wife has to take me to work like I am back in grade school. I don't care where the drive is as long as we can stretch the car out a bit. I just want to be able to go WOT again, or at least above 3000 RPM. abakos 02-25-2003, 12:02 PM Originally posted by Hammm3 Hope you two work this out. Do you have snow tires on your M? I have not seen any M3s this winter at all, I normally see a few in the winter. This one has been rough! I do not care for SUVs, but resorted to driving my BFs 2002 Pathfinder since my Jetta got stuck in the slush on our street last week. I guess SUVs arn't all bad ;) Have we met? Do you go to the Roosters BMW gatherings? Renee '99 M Coupe '90 Jetta GLI BMLRacer 02-25-2003, 10:23 PM John, Apology acepted. I'll be looking forward to seeing you at DF&DD. We have not met, but I have been to Chris's house several times. He helped me with my alarm and short shifter. I also plan on going to the dent and dyno day. Your car is on www.understeer.com and looks very nice. My wife drives an RX300, and though it is not an off-road brute, it has yet to get stuck in the snow. I have gotten stuck on our driveway trying to get into the garage and have to back up to get momentum from the street. Renee M Coupe 02-27-2003, 08:09 AM Ludicious, are you coming to Dent Fest in Columbus? The event keeps getting better and better! :D Audioman, I will meet you at Dent Fest, if not sooner. I want to get my car on the dyno before I (meaning Chris) do anything to it. Hopefully, I will have the car back out Mid-March (depending on the weather). Renee '99 M Coupe '90 Jetta GLI Bimmer325 03-06-2003, 09:33 PM anyone from dayton....anything going on in dayton? bimmers, any cool car, anything? thanks DJ'S_PIMP_whip 03-09-2003, 02:00 PM HI, I'm new to bimmerforums, been on E46.com for a little while, but just ventured over here.
