If I can get my car to hold a normal operating temp I can help ya out. For the fan, get some channel locks and grab two of the waterpump nuts, and get a 32mm box wrench for the fan nut. Worked for me, was a pain in the ass because it was torqued on so hard, but it worked.

make sure you're turning it the right way. The nut on the fan is reverse threaded.

Go to Sears, buy the wrench and some needle-nose channel locks.
Wedge a needle between a bolt and the pulley and bite down...
Now put the wrench on the fan-bolt and turn...
Be careful not to hit it on anything or drop it and just return the tools when finished.

keep the 32mm wrench. It'll come in handy when you need to remove the VANOS solenoid when you replace the cam position sensor. You can also club people over the head with it.

Head to your nearest performance bike shop and pick up this http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=12765&subcategory_ID=4209
It was 9.99 in store but I told them it was 7.99 online and they honored the price. It's super thin, strong enough and fits perfectly.

one of the 2. not sure how much that tool to hold the fan clutch will come in handy though. might get it, then resell it here on bf.c

Says m10,m20,m30 motors...but if its a 32mm wrench and that one side has a bit of extra space, i bet it will fit the fan nuts...not worth $38 though...lame.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to install my UDP's also. Let me know if you find someone who's done it before and is willing to help so I can tag along. I also have access to cash and beer. :)

Hello are you still having trouble with this? because I did this a few weeks ago and I have a great and easy technique to do this with.
