I just installed my Jim Conforti chip for my E32 735i and it feels a little faster. However, All the material i find says it should shift at 6800 when WOT. Mine still shifts at 6200. Whats the deal? are they liars?

Correct me if I am wrong, but you'll need transmission software (automatic tranny) to raise the rev limiter.

If you had a manual, that's a different story.

It says on the UUC site and the Turner motorworks (bonneville, Jim Conforti) site that the chip, when used with an auto tranny, will allow you to shift at 6800 Rpms.

Yes I think so too. When I had the Conforti Chip in my auto 325 it said it would raise the limiter to 7k but it still shifted at 6200, unless I put it in Manual mode and shifted manually, but I don't know if your car has that or not.

Manual mode on those automatics isnt meant to be used like that and will wear it out faster.. beware

yeah.....im not sure why they would advertise a feature for a product when you need a completely different product (ie tranny chip) to fulfill that feature....thats just stupid.....and terrible marketing. WTF!

personally, I would og with the DINAN tranny software. Tranny software is tricky stuff

It may seem like it to you...but it is correct - "it will allow you"! Engine software can't control tranny shift points - only tranny software can do that!!!:buttrock

Err...uhhh....I'm gonna have to agree with Doug from Turner Motorsport...I think you may owe their business an apology. You border on libeling their business and reputation. I went to the site and I don't see anything where it says that the transmission will shift at 6800 RPM if you install a TMS performance chip. Torque, horespower, RPM range, and rev limit all refer to increased engine performance.

It does say that the REV LIMIT will be raised to 6800 RPM...but that has nothing to do with the transmission. I think you misread/misunderstood what you read in the advertisment (which you can see in the image below)
