I have searched all the DIY sites and this forum and have not found anything close. I have a set of 17x8 style 5 that I purchased for my E36 M3. I got a good quote from a rim repair shop for $350 to redo the rims, but I have only seen the quality of their work which looks good just don't know if it is durable. Anyway before I take it to them, I am considering doing the job myself. I have a friend with what I assume are all the tools I would need but is there a DIY on repairing your rims. I would like to save a bit of money, and since I will be on vacation soon I thought it would be a good project to do.

What needs to be "repaired"? If you're just refinishing the wheels, go for it! However, if you are trying to fix a bent lip/wheel, etc., I'd leave it to a wheel repair shop.
