I got the car back two weeks ago from getting some bodywork and paint done. Last night was the first chance I had to wash the car and take some photos. I decided to throw on the style 5s from my other 535. I don't think it works with the car. It makes the car look old. I think my BBS wheels look a bit better, but ultimately I'm looking for some killer 18s that will set this car off just right.
A quick overview of the car:
TCD stage 2+ setup on a built 3.6, 8:1 CR, MLS HG, APR studs, etc
340rwhp/365twtq at 10psi on a slipping clutch
Stripped interior, MOMO seats, roll-bar, etc
Ground-Control coilover setup on Bilsteins
Brembo Brakes
Zender front spoiler, M-tech sides, Zender rear apron, ACS wing

Looking amazing Justin. I really like the Style 5s though.

Where and when did you get the Zender parts? I'd love to get my hands on a Zender rear.

Thanks, but I think that the wheels need to be more aggresive on this car. Otherwise the Style 5s rock. They look fantastic on the black car.
I bought the front spoiler back in 2001 and the rear apron last December. I got both from BavAuto, but both are NLA. Zender has stopped making aftermarket products. The rear arpon, was old damaged stock.

I agree, The style 5's look dated on your car.

Paint looks great. I get mine back from paint today :)

I'm digging the new paint job, the car looks hot. BBS all the way though.

Personally I prefer it when the the whole of the front and back bummpers are replaced so it looks completely smooth but i just noticed a problem with my car because of you :stickoutt having aftermarket bumpers means there's only a black strip across the doors and not all round the car :shifty which looks stupid. I'll have to paint it now.

Redfive, Just my opinion which is worthless. I think you should have the lower door lips painted red as well. It looks kinda strange with the black moulding and then the black strips above the side skirts.

Just my opinion. Tell me to shut the hell up and piss off if you like :)

I wasn't able to get the door bottoms in time. I will paint them. The paint on the side skirt goes all the way up, I just have it covered with electrical tape so that it blends in for now.
When I got it back from paint, I couldn't stop looking at it.

Thanks guys.
speciale34 - I bought the front bumper about 6 years ago. Its been painted black this whole time. It got damaged in the fall when I blew the headgasket while on the track. I got it repaired. Since its no longer available, if anyone wants to make a mold of it, now's the time to do it. It sits so low, its bound to be damaged again and that will be it. Its already endured a full piece of retread at 80mph, a dead racoon at 50mph, and race track curbing at 75mph. I've even raised up the front end a little to reduce the amount of scrapping.
The Style 5s aren't staying. They're only 17x8 and right now the measly 235/45/17 Toyo Proxies 4 can not handle the power. The only tires that size that can handle that much power is are the R-compunds that I have mounted to my Autec wheels. Also still have my BBS RX staggered wheels with Pzeros (yellow).
Whatever wheels go on there will be lightweight, deep dish, 18x8.5 ft and 18x10 rear, because I'm planning on running 275s or 285s in the back with 255s in the front. MK1s are a possiblity as are Roundell 58s. If I can get the cash, DPEs, Kenesis, Fiske, Forgeline, etc...
The photos are poor because I took them in a low light situation without the flash. You eyes are not decieving you, the car is several different shades of Cinnabar. Apparently the back was resprayed about 10-12 years ago and the paint has since gotten darker. The new paint will also get darker, but it will never match. The whole car needs to be painted, but if it cost me $1k to get the ground effects painted, I will need to save for quite a while to afford paying for the whole car. Especially considering Cinnabar cost $140 a pint.

Question to all. Should I shadowline the trim? I have the blackouts for the front grilles and I'm debating installing them and blacking out the rest of the trim.
I have yet to install my Euro smiley's, tint the windows, paint the roll-bar black, install the M5 steering, install the 700hp clutch, replace the front seats and get it retuned. This all would be much easier to afford and do if I didn't drop a fortune on an engagement ring. She said yes so now I have to finish paying for the ring and save up enough money to pay for the band, photographer, videographer, florist, and the honeymoon.

I'd shadowline the window trim, but possibly leave the grill chrome.

Kudos to her saying "yes" !:buttrock I'd wait to decide on the Shadowline until you commit to wheels and tint. The shiny rims look nice with the small bit of bright trim and clear windows you currently run.
If I wasn't so behind in my Composites list, I'd build the mould for the front fascia. Hopefully you don't destroy it before I catch up !;)

Very nice. I'd leave the grill alone but black out the trim around the windows. I think that would look real good. Have any pics of your interior? I'm interested on how the roll cage is in there.

just WOW!!!

I've been waiting for those pics since the last thread when you said you we going to paint the bumper! it was worth the wait
there's one thing tho, with the zender kit, spoilers really look out of place. i had to take off mine cuz it ruined the lines of my car. my spoiler was the m5 one(if i'm not mistaken), it was lower,....but still looked weird on the car.
the zender kit calls for a no spoiler
like this one,

and the 2 other...the silver and calypso one

otherwise, GORGEOUS car. i love everything about it
i'd hit it;)

My god, that car is just amazing, I LOVE the color and, well just about everything about the car.

Any chance you could give me some more details/pics regarding the brakes. Any chance I could ask about the price?

Oh, and extra congratulations/wishes on your engagement. Hope that all goes well.

Thanks. We're not getting married till next fall, so things aren't that crazy yet. I'm just trying to get everything done to my car before we get married, because that's when she'll get access to my bank accounts and she'll probably flip when she sees how much I actually spend on this car. In the meantime the ring is keeping her happy.
I need to get some better photos of the car, because in full sunlight, that red is blinding. It also needs a detailing because it hasn't been touched since labor day last year except for a washing. But I have to say I was sold on that car before I even drove it.
That blue zender car is beautiful. I love that color. If only I could find a touring in that color.
The car was without a spoiler for a long time and I can't take it off because its bolted to the trunk. It did have a huge wing at one point.
The brakes are Brembo's GT setup in the front. I have both the 1 piece and 2 piece rotors (street and track). I got the calipers and 1 piece rotors for $1500 back in 2000. Then I upgraded to the 2 piece rotors when the 1 piece ones were no longer available. That was $1000. I got everything at dealer cost from Frozenrotors.com who was sponsoring me at the time. I have the 328mm setup. For slightly more there is now a 338mm setup. The smaller brakes have no problem stopping me. The rotors are drilled and slotted. I have Hawk HPS pads for the street and performance friction PF97s for the track (requires a dedicated rotor).
The interior needs work. The MOMO seats are faded and the driver's seat is starting to tear. The custom rear seat cover is falling apart (its 6 years old). The roll cage needs to be modified because it sits too close to the seat and I can't move my seat far enough back. But that's not a problem since its removable. (custom - I can get a shop to duplicate it for about $1k). I'll try to post some pictures but everything I have is old, so therefore it looks new. PM me your email if you want a faster response (going camping this weekend).
Oh, I'm pulling the style 5s tomorrow. They are so out of balance or bent that the entire car shakes over 50mph. I'm throwing the BBS RXs back on there.

If you want to see some photos from the past, go to my website, redfivemotorsport.com, and click on the racing tab. Select one of the One Lap races and on each page is a link to a pdf, which has some crazy stories and photos.
