I hit a tire laying in the middle of the highway the other day. I have black rubber marks along the side of my front bumper now. What should I do to remove these marks? Bug and tar remover, or should I hit with the orbital and a cutting pad...?

Thanks

Bug and tar to start, clay, scratchX if needed, wax.

You lucked out. I hit a truck tire on the fwy once in my old Rieger A4...needed a new front bumper...

I know, I got lucky not breaking my front bumper. I was able to swerve out of the way and the tire only brushed against the side of my bumper rather than hitting it head on. I didn't get a change to try to remove it yet. Hopefully it'll come off easily.

I'd recommend rubbing it off with your fingers if its just rubber lol. Otherwise, use rubbing compound if its real bad, then polishing compound. Wetsanding if absolutely necessary.

yeah be sure that all contaminents are removed before you start buffing. Buffing transfered rubber into your paint would result in massive scratches. Use a claybar before anything...
