hey guys
like to know about installin another cluster.

i just got the car 98 540i with 180,000mi and the gauges pixals are shot!!
i am picin 1 up from ebay and like to know about installin 1 myself

i dont care if it has diff miles on it cause its my beater car and i am going to never sell it (run it to the ground)

BUT PEOPLE SAY IF I PUT IT IN MYSELF THE CAR WILL DIE OUT AND WONT START???
IS THIS TRUE?? OR ARE THEY JUST SAYIN THAT TO MAKE PEOPLE GO TO THE STEALER SHOP!!!
I TOOK MINE OUT AND TRYED TO FIX IT AND PUT IT BACK IN SO I KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO DO (5 MINS)

SOMEONE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE (WILL THE CAR NOT START IF I DO IT)
THANKS

If it's your beater car, then why bother fixing the cluster? The car will start just fine with another cluster in it. I'm curious who told you it wouldn't? The only problem you'll notice is that the manipulation dot will illuminate in the cluster.
