I just picked up my first beamer and immedaitely started with a few problems. I had a friend check the codes and they are as follows.

Camshaft Inlet
Camshaft Outlet
Ignition Cylinder 1
Misfire Cylinder 1

and unrelated electronic thermo control

Now i have having some problems with stalling and weird acceleration which i think the camshaft sensors are causing. Is it right that the camshaft problem would also cause the problems in cylinder 1?

Kind of worried about this. If you have any info at all i would certainly appreciate it!

Thanks

Mike

Cam sensors are a common problem, and will cause all of the symptoms you're describing. The weird acceleration and stalling can cause other faults, such as the misfire/ignition faults, so yes...they're most likely related. No need to worry, just replace the cam sensors and clear the faults.

i doubt the cam sensors would cause the misfire fault, but it's possible if both of them were bad.

replace both cam sensors, clear the faults. the "electronic thermo control" sounds like a thermostat fault, but I don't really know OBD codes.

replace the thermostat, and both cam sensors, then check for mis-fires again, if it comes back swap the coil to another known good cylinder.
