WHAT'S UP to everyone in Omaha!

I'm 15, and I don't have a car yet, but I'm always looking around since my parents will buy it for me. How many people on these forums are from Omaha?

leave close enough to omaha. I agree with DH on car choice.. an E30 3 series would be a great place to start if you have to have a BMW for your first car.

Get out to the autocrosses so you can learn to drive too.

See if you can talk your parents into paying your insurance if you pay for the car, then lease a Z4 for $220/month. You can easily swing that on a part time job. ;)

I'm not sure what I'm getting yet, but I know my parents won't let me lease it. They will pay for the car and insurance, and I have to pay for gas (that's the agreement). The only catch is that I can't get my own car until I'm a senior in high school. Until then, I can drive their cars.

Hum...I had my own car when I was 15, my second car by 16. It took me a few cars to learn how to drive :-)

Have 3 nice BMW's now. Got to start somewhere...

I wish. I've been looking at '05 330i ZHP's to buy as a first car, but I'm not sure what I really want right now. My parents are Lexus people, so I drive their cars (RX 400h and LS460). My dad also has a 1991 Acura NSX which I get to drive every now and then.

Nice parents!

Mine have never given me one cent towards my cars, but my father has given me an invaluable amount of knowledge. The only car he let me work on in the garage, or gave me a hand on was the old plymouth GTX, and now the e30s. The rest (180sx, rx7 (fb), MKI mr2) he would have nothing to do with. I guess that says something.

Definitely take whatever you get to driving schools! I wish I'd have done more schools and spent less time wasting money on stupid parts. It seems like alot of money, but its worth it. At least get some autox under your belt.

welcome aboard. Before you spend money on the car for mods. I would recommend Driving Schools allot of them so you know how your car handles and then you can work on mods. I would hate to see a nice car get destroyed.

Drivers ed does not teach you how to drive, it basically tests if you can fog a mirror....

What we're talking about are HPDE events. You take your car on the track with an instructor shotgun and you really learn about driving.

SNAP!
I forgot to send you that check, Shannon...I'll do it this week, swamped lately with College World Series coverage for the paper...

Also, I've had two sparkplugs come loose in the past few weeks and one of my plug wires is a little loose (it's not tight around the nipple of the plug) any ideas?!??

you can try to peel back the rubber housing around the wire and crimp the end a little closer together. Other then that replace them. NP about the check.
