BMWMPow3r 06-21-2007, 03:35 PM you didn't do it right. Did you check the head for warpage when it was removed? Did you have a machine shiop work on it? NEZAAM 06-23-2007, 04:05 AM you didn't do it right. Did you check the head for warpage when it was removed? Did you have a machine shiop work on it? yes i had it at a machine shop after that it was fine, took it too ferroli for dyno tune months after had a miss at start up. i did a comp test all cyl was ok except #1 was low BMWMPow3r 06-25-2007, 08:33 AM how low? BMWMPow3r 06-25-2007, 08:35 AM has it overheated since? are you sure its the headgasket? have you done a compression test recently? cold or hot engine when done? Make sure to test the coolant pressure. It may be to high. My headgasket blew after I put on a new radiator cap on the reservoir. It held to much pressure and the pressure has nowhere to go. As the engine cools some clearances become smaller and some grow larger for a short time. Coolant under pressure will always find the weakest point first. that may be your headgasket while the engine is cooling. squeeze your coolant hoses to see how much presure you have. Periodically check after driving. do you still drive it? Important, you can throttle the reservoir low coolant switch screw on top of the coolant reservoir to control amount of pressure. I do it, and it has kept the gasket from getting worse. for now its a minor leak. |
