Well, my 95 Corsica caught on fire a couple of weeks ago, yes, fire, burnt slam up with only liability. So I'm looking for a new car and my ex-boss says he has one that I can have (gift) until I can find a reliable daily driver. A 1983 BMW 320i(s?). As ratty as it looked, I fell in love with this car by the time I hit 5th gear. In the past year he has replaced the brakes, master cylinder, clutch, clutch master, head gasket, radiator, fuel injector lines, cap, plugs, wires and tires. All in all the car in is pretty good shape. It is doing that surging thing (found the fix on this board had the 3mm tool made today by a welder buddy will work on that tomorrow) and the sunroof cables need to be replaced (pick up at junkyard Monday had to buy the whole sunroof assy $65). It seems to burn alot of oil, the speedo is about 12mph fast, so hard to gauge the mileage, the best I can figure is about 1qt every 4-500 miles?. No major leaks that I can see, haven't put it on a lift yet. Little noise in the rear end I think. And I'm rambling, so I must digress. Since I can't post links or images yet I submit the following sudo urls for your viewing enjoyment.

It does have an empty toolkit in the trunk deck, haven't looked underneath for the sway bar. It does have the 3 spoke steering wheel, recaro seats and leather shifter.

welcome to the E21 (addiction) Family - they do grow on you fast!!!

Sounds like the motor needs some work to stop the oil consumpion. Drive it easy till you have the money to buy a real beater so you can fix up your gem. :D

Looks like a iS to me.

I did the bumper tuck and didn't like it cause I don't have the driver's side accordion piece, so I took it off until I can find one.

I have a problem with the driver's side door closing. I have to slam it to get it to close all the way. It looks to me like there is no way to adjust the striker. Any tips??

When I bought my E21, the guy said it burned about 1 quart every 500+ miles. Since it was only $350.00, I bought it anyway. When I brought it home, I was under the car scoping it out, and was able to finger tighten nearly every bolt on the oil pan! After cranking them down properly, it now uses MAYBE 1/4 quart every 1000+ miles. Maybe your situation is as fortunate as mine...I hope so...and I'm not bashful with the throttle, even though I have 218,000+ miles on the original engine. Best regards...
