Since a few weeks ago my 86 535i has been refusing to start after it rains. The wires are new, and in the Chilton manual I bought it says only the distributor cap and coil are servicable as everything else in internal.
Should I replace the disributor, this seems to be the culprit as when I put a multimeter on,the coil seemed ok? thanks, Doug in Ct.

Try going to mye28.com, in thier tech section, search for 'rain' and you'll find some good advice about your possible moisture problem.

my car will hesitate in the rain, sometimes its bad enough to bring me to a standstill on the side of the highway from 80 (ugh.) its sometimes rain in the O2 sensor, seal it with some high temp grease in the threads, and maybe embalm the wires in high temp sillicone (RTB).
