Picked up my new 328xi about a week ago and love it. One problem--I got the ipod option factory-installed and the dealer tells me I need to purchase a cord in order to use the option (apparently the cord has two prongs running from the ipod--one into the usb jack and one into the aux jack). I cannot for the life of me find this cord. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

jane,

my dealer ran back into the dealership and gave me an ipod connector that was still in the plastic bag. the one that was already in the car was a usb connector.
if i were you, i'd call them up, and say: when are you sending me the ipod connection, or should i pick it up? :)
you shouldn't have to pay for it!!

i had to coax and prove to the manager of the dealership that the cord was included in the 6FL package. once you do that have him sign a release and go to the parts dept. of the same dealership and give him that. the parts guy in my case didnt believe i could get the cord, that the car should have come with one so thats what the paper was for AND making the cord FREE for me. He called the manger of the dealership and everything worked dandy.

You do need this cable and it is part of the iPod 6FL option. This cable was not in my 335i when I picked it up, so had to go back to dealer and explain situation to Service and Sales Mgr. My CA was not in, so without any research the Sales Mgr said I needed to buy. The Service manager did some research after I left and later informed me that the cable was part of the iPod option and I was given a refund.
If you have problems with dealer, suggest you go to bnmusa website, which clearly indicates the cable (other than the normal USB) is part of the option and take your window sticker with you. It is unfortunate that the selling parties are not current on what is and is not part of the option packages.

The cable is included with the 6FL (iPod) option. Tell your CA to recheck his facts. My CA gave me mine before I left for my ED so I could listen to my iPod while on my trip.

My delivery didn't get one either, and I would probably have never known until somebody showed me the cord here..

Do NOT pay for it...you did.

It's free in the US but apparently not in Canada, I called BMW Canada and asked.

Mine was not in the car when I picked it up, called the dealer and he had it overnighted. He said it was suppose to be included.
