My wife's 328xi was caught in a serious windstorm and some fallen branches have dented the front hood and roof. I have a paintless dent repair guy that I use who is excellent. Not worried about the hood, but the roof is going to be difficult. The location of the dents is adjacent to the top of the drivers window, beside the sunroof on the outerside side of the strip that runs through the roof line. He will be phoning BMW to make sure he removes the chrome window moulding properly to try and get at the roof line, from the underside of the roof. Has anyone ever tried to remove that chrome window moulding or does anyone have access to shop manual that might show you how to do it and what's under there?

remove sunroof cassette.

What is the sunroof cassette? Do we need to take apart the roof liner and the surrounding roof assembly?
