Here goes:

3 modules:

- Once touch open/close module (no more keeping the button pressed)

- Remote control roof operation module

- Open/closing of top up to 30mph module.

All 3 can be installed at once or any 1 or 2 seperately.

and saw this:

Note: We will not deliver to USA out of the current product liability laws.

AAAARGH!!! :mad

Ever since I heard about the aftermarket add-ons (Stellar?) for the E46 I have been lusting after this functionality.

Hey Mparallel, want to broker a group buy and ship a bunch of these West for us? :D

I had one from Stellar.

total pos that sent the open signal to top every time you started the car. I eventually gave up on that worthless product and company.

why would any one want to open the top up to 30 miles an hour?

why would any one want to open the top up to 30 miles an hour?

So you could bend all the metal parts in the top and have reason to post even more on Bf.c!!

As for Mparallel - c'mon, I promise I won't sue you if I open my top at 30 and totally screw up my top or tonneau cover... :)

can't imagine anyone wanting to, but some people might want to open the top while they aren't in the car.

i wouldnt set my cruise control at 30 and operate the top, but it would be nice to be able to operate the top at a stoplight and not have to worry about holding up traffic if the light changes. it would be nice to be able to operate the top while driving out of the parking structure at work or while driving thorugh a parking lot.

saving 30 seconds isnt nice enough to spend $300 though. IIRC when I first linked the reinhold site a while back each of their modules was between $250 and $350, not including the hassle of finding someone in europe to buy it and ship it over, or the worry of having it cause problems.

I had the guys at Cartoys hook my alarm, autostart, top etc.. together. Works great You can actually control alot. Have the car ready to go by the time you get to it.:redspot

Have the car ready to go by the time you get to it.

That's my goal - especially in the hot summer months - the ability to drop the top from a 50' or so away would be GREAT.

Do you know what hardware/system you're using to do this? I'd heard that there weren't many options for non-e46 cars.

Thanks.

Keep in mind that operating the top without the engine running will eat batteries.

First of all, this option is greta for summer. By the time you get to the car it is not hot. Battery is not a problem because I hook my car to trickle charger every night. The hardware you need is just a module to go with your alarm. It was all hooked to my Viper alarm. My buddies at cartoys in Seattle hooked everything up and it has worked fine for years.:alright

True, but if you drive for a significant period of time afterwards, I doubt it will impact battery life too much.

What brand hardware did you get? Can you ask your buddies at Cartoys what they installed? Unfortunately, Cartoys doesn't exist beyond Colorado/Oregon/Texas/Washington, and their website doesn't list a remote control to drop the top...

The alarm is a Viper and from what I was told you can do it with any alarm that has the capacity to add modules, any tech should know.
