735il 91'

Ive noticed that when im driving w. the lights on a message comes up on the dash "Tail light out". If i turn the lights off and on quickly the light usually turns back on. This is the taillight bulb not the brake light. I have also gotten messages like parking light out and brake light circuit which is less common than the tail light out.
Ive already replaced the bulb on the right side(the side that always goes out) and still get the same message. I heard from a co worker that its the mustard relay needs to be re saudered but after talking to bmw mechanics they seem to never have heard such a thing. Does anyone know a good mechanic that has experienced this problem in the Nor cal area? Or some advice on my situation..

heh I get the same thing all the time, I noticed that the plug that attaches to the tail light that has the black plastic shroud that sounds it, part of that shroud is broken off and so I think that might be my cause. I noticed that if my tail goes out that my parking light on whichever side it is, goes out as well, but seems to come on when I brake hahaha...

Resolder the socalled mustard relay, which is in charge for taillight and parking light.

Yeah its gotta be the relay, but i dont trust myself with a solder gun. Ill take it to a buddy of mine. Thanks

Another possibility can be the light switch itself.
Let's say in >90% it is the mustard relay, then comes the bulb holder and connections there, then the light switch

corroded connector? never heard of it. I dont live in a high humidity or salt area. The only corrosion ive seen is on the battery posts. : )
