View Full Version : What would be a close estimate to a first time 335i BMW car owner? Newbie007 06-04-2007, 07:07 PM In august I will be getting a 335i coupe for a first car. What do you think a rough estimate for insurance prices would be ? blkbmw3 06-04-2007, 07:19 PM how old are you? whats your driving record like? primary driver? credit score? etc etc etc..... Call around ask for quotes from insurance companies. Beer Goggles 06-04-2007, 07:49 PM Ummm that's what they made insurance reps for....call or go on line. mryakan 06-04-2007, 10:16 PM It is almost impossible to guess insurance rates. Everything is a variable even probably your hairstyle if you were to sit face to face with an insurance agent. That being said, what do you drive now, what kinda coverage do you have and how much do you pay. For example for my new 323i I pay roughly 900$ a year while my 97 318ti costs me only a couple of hundred less (ans about the same a year or so ago). Now rates for the rocket 335 will definitely command a premium, esp. the coupe. SocratesBMW 06-04-2007, 10:48 PM I pay about $900 a year for a coupe. Beer Goggles 06-04-2007, 11:28 PM I need to live where you guys do... I think I pay about 1800 a year for both cars we own...my insurance went down a few bucks from my 350Z. mryakan 06-05-2007, 12:49 AM That is not high for the cars you have. I bet turbo engine cars are considered a higher liability. IrvRobinson 06-05-2007, 07:40 PM too many factors to take in consideration, just call ahead and see what they say E92!Dreier 06-05-2007, 07:48 PM I pay about $900 a year for a coupe. 4800 / yr -- primary, 328 coupe nm335 06-05-2007, 07:52 PM too many factors to take in consideration, just call ahead and see what they say Hello "IrvRobinson": Keep in mind that I (and definitely the wife) are really old and do not have much life left. (Hopefully the wife less so than me)! However, my premium for full coverage (100/300 up to the limits of my umbrella 1.5 $M coverage) is about $248 every six months. Farmer's Insurance, in case you want to check it out. Mazel tov! Beer Goggles 06-05-2007, 08:15 PM 4800 / yr -- primary, 328 coupe I'd walk if I had to pay that much...I'm guessing you're very young, very young with lots of points...or have LOTS of points. aftp302 06-05-2007, 09:40 PM I'd walk if I had to pay that much...I'm guessing you're very young, very young with lots of points...or have LOTS of points. Dude, I second that. $4800 per year for insurance? That's insane. Mazel tov! :) that's a good deal, I have State Farm and I'm getting a good deal as well. mryakan 06-05-2007, 11:00 PM What kind of liability coverage, deductible, etc. Also I assume you have top insurance rating. brokenbimmer 06-05-2007, 11:12 PM $850 per year for wife and I on a 335i sedan. We're in our late 30's and have a $1000 deductible, 25/50. Well now that I'm 25, I guess it should drop a little. Only a year left for that damn ticket to drop of my driving record too. If any of you guys are in Arizona and see a cop, please boot him in the butt for me. Haha...just kidding... Thanks for catching me and making me slow down for my own safety, officer... 335iDriver 06-21-2007, 03:10 AM $850 per year for wife and I on a 335i sedan. We're in our late 30's and have a $1000 deductible, 25/50. The same for my wife and I (but late 20's). No points because I'm an awsome 335iDriver! A $250 increase from my 2004.5 Volvo S40 w/ 200 hp/218torque. Nothing like my BMW. formula 06-21-2007, 12:40 PM damn i guess i got a good deal i am going to pay 1800 per year and i just turned 22 Mark335i 06-21-2007, 01:38 PM ...my insurance went down a few bucks from my 350Z. Probably the change from a "2 seater" to a "4 seater". Insurance companies are weird about that. :shifty Beer Goggles 06-21-2007, 01:41 PM Probably the change from a "2 seater" to a "4 seater". Insurance companies are weird about that. :shifty You'd think but I had an A4 before that and my insurance was cheaper with the Z :) Until kids started crashing them all over the place. mryakan 06-21-2007, 02:20 PM BMW is a much safer car than the 350Z (more airbags, structural regidity, passive safety). I was shocked when I was quoted 900$ full coverage with 0 deductible v.s. 750 for my 10 year old ti, and asked the insurance agent if it was the 2 door vs 4 door but she said it mostly because BMWs are safer cars nowadays (and maybe harder to steal I guess). |
