Well, I've been thinking about selling her for a few weeks now and I found a 2001 that I want to buy, so the time has come..

This is a very clean and well maintained E34 with 122K. It has the wood grain, CD changer, power roof, and all the power goodies but no heated seats. The leather is like new.. The books were stamped by the dealer up to around 80K. I purchased it with 115K about 5 months ago. Since then I had the car completely gone over by a BMW tech and replaced or repaired anything he recommended. The car looks and drives excellent.. I have completed all maintenance and repairs to bring everything up to date. The following is a list of recent work completed within the last 3,000 miles. My mechanic only uses OEM parts and has been working on BMW's for over 30 years..

L.O.F with Mobil1
Service auto trans with filter kit.
Replaced upper control arms.
Front end allignment.
Replaced front rotors and pads.
Replaced rear rotors and pads.
Brake lines bleed and calipers serviced.
Replaced front drive shaft flex joint.
Replaced trasmission mounts.
Replaced Radiator, fan and shroud.
Replaced coolant level sensor.
Replaced thermostat and changed to aluminum housing.
Replaced water pump.
Replaced power steering pulley.
Replaced belts as needed.
Replaced hose and clamps to PS fluid tank.
Replaced interior cabin micro filter.
Repaired twisty seat and replaced one seat motor.
Complete tune up with Bosch Super plugs.
New 60,000 mile Cooper touring tires on 16" custom Borbet wheels.
(Stock wheels also included)
The underside of the car is clean and dry and it's easy to see the car has been garage kept.
No oil leaks and the motor runs butter smooth.
I've been averaging 24 mpg with mixed highway and city.
This is a rare color combo, you either love it or hate it but I will tell you, it's very easy to keep the car looking good. The color hides the dirt well and the car looks good even when it's filthy. It's classy IMO..

Now the bad.. The rear windows worked but very slow so I disconected them at the switch. The front clip was repainted but I have no record of why or when. It has all original fenders and hood, my mechanic says the there is no sign of collision repair. I figured it was painted due to age. The car has very few stone chips and only one door ding. Body and paint are very good and the car has all original glass. There is one small dime size spot inside the gas cap that is starting to rust and one spot on the inside driver door edge but it's very minor.

I think that's it.. If you have any questions, please ask and I will try to answer them. My asking price is $7,500 but I will consider reasonable offers. I have over $9,000 invested in this car and I only purchased it about 5 months ago so please no low ball offers or tire kickers. Serious inquiries only.. I will post more pics later.

The price is a bit steep, but having been in the market for a couple of months now, I know how rare it is to find an e34 in such good shape.

Best of luck with the sale, if my budget was anywhere close, I'd definitely consider it.

It's strange.. Only on this forum do people think it's priced a little high. I used to be in the car business and I still know a lot of people. I talked to a friend today that said he sold a 95 2 weeks ago with 145K in average condition for $6,995 and he he sold a 92 a month ago with 176K for $5,000 and it needed work. He also said a nice one like mine with all the work done, would bring at least $8,000 on his lot. I guess I'll list it locally soon if nobody on here wants to make an offer.

KBB in my area says $6,200 for good and $6,800 excellent for private party. Dealer retail is way up there...:eyecrazy If $6,200 is fair for a good one, when a serious buyer takes into consideration the cost of the work that's recently been done ($3,000.) it's a fair deal at my price. Not to mention, they're not very easy to find anymore in this shape. Even so, I said the price is flexable for a serious buyer. This car is ready to roll and the new owner wouldn't need to do anything right away.

Thanks.. What are you looking to spend? I found one or two locally when I was trying to figure out what to list mine for. I don't know the condtion other than what's in the paper but if I knew your price range I could keep an eye out for you. I saw a 92 on a used car lot today that was a little rough but I think they only wanted $3,995. by the looks of the car, it's got at least 200K on the clock.

Really?? I love this color.. It's my second choice after silver. I'm sure someone else will like it as much as I do.

No.. The books were only stamped to around 80K. I bought the car 5 months ago with around 115K. I have no records for any service between 80 and 115k. I completed all the service and repairs that needed done to bring it up to date. I only put about 7K on the car since I've owned it. I'd have to check the title but I believe I'm the second owner. It was a local PA car and seriviced at a PA. dealer. Any serious buyer is welcome to speak to my mechanic, he knows the car inside and out. I only know a little from reading and speaking to BMW guys. The car runs and looks excellent..

Thought about it a little more last night.. I think I'm going to try e-bay first and see what happens. I never sold a car on e-bay before but I think it's worth a shot. Starting bid will be $5,000 with NO RESERVE so some of you guys that made offers may want to check it out. I still plan on having the new inspection and service done this week so the car will be ready to drive anywhere.. I'll post up the link when it starts. I'm buying a 2001 525I so this one has to go.

Good luck with the sale Smokey. I'll be watching, since I got basically the same kind of car for sale for the same kind of price.
