Has anyone had a broken metal rod that
connects to the locking mechanism? My door
handle just won't do the job and it's embarassing
to stick my arm out the window and open it from
the outside. I wanted to know if anybody had a similar
experience before I rip the door panel apart.

Just so you know, the handle assembly just snaps onto the cable assembly. It could be that it just came undone (mine did when I removed my door panel once).... Regardless, it's only a 10 min job to remove the door panel and take a look-see.

My driver side interior door handle is really tough, and sometimes I pull it all the way and the door still doesn’t open. It usually takes more than 1 try to open my door from the inside. I took out the handle and the cable seems fine. any ideas?

you mean it takes 2 pulls to open your door??? that's normal.
