However, the SMG in those vehicles did not get as good of reviews as in the M3. They are pretty rare though, good luck in your search, one will pop up eventually. windnsea00 06-05-2007, 06:02 PM the owner must have done it himself. im pretty sure bmw never offered this. Incorrect but like the poster above me said, the reviews for it were far from amazing. xxballaboveallx 06-05-2007, 06:52 PM It was also offered on e46 325i's as well as other models, just damn near impossible to find one. sbblowz 06-05-2007, 10:52 PM oh ok new information to me. dhm118 06-06-2007, 12:00 AM yea my neighbor has a 330 vert with smg. thats the only one ive ever seen though. VERY RARE. MIMI1 06-07-2007, 07:42 PM Half these answers are dumb:lol yes you could buy an smg out of the m range they came on the E46 body cars as well as the E60 5 series cars E46 you could get 325i ci cic or 330i ci cic and e60 i believe the 545 530 Auday 06-07-2007, 08:19 PM Half these answers are dumb:lol yes you could buy an smg out of the m range they came on the E46 body cars as well as the E60 5 series cars E46 you could get 325i ci cic or 330i ci cic and e60 i believe the 545 530 Are you sure it's an actual SMG or just an Auto with Steering Wheel Paddle-Shifter like the Sports Package 335i E92? Does it have a Torque Converter or a electronically driven Clutch? xxballaboveallx 06-07-2007, 08:27 PM I wish I still had my pics, but yes it was SMG I I believe, it was steptronic like the e90 335i, I had an e46 325i with SMG and now an e90 335i with steptronic and paddles, so I can answer this question with a sure answer. windnsea00 06-07-2007, 10:19 PM Are you sure it's an actual SMG or just an Auto with Steering Wheel Paddle-Shifter like the Sports Package 335i E92? Does it have a Torque Converter or a electronically driven Clutch? It's actual SMG...a manual transmission with an electronically controlled clutch. BMW just started the auto-paddle thing with the 335i/535i. windnsea00 06-07-2007, 10:20 PM I wish I still had my pics, but yes it was SMG I I believe, it was steptronic like the e90 335i, I had an e46 325i with SMG and now an e90 335i with steptronic and paddles, so I can answer this question with a sure answer. However, very different. The Steptronic is a ZF automatic transmission in the 335i or a GM automatic in the current 328i. The SMG was a manual transmission. xxballaboveallx 06-07-2007, 11:02 PM However, very different. The Steptronic is a ZF automatic transmission in the 335i or a GM automatic in the current 328i. The SMG was a manual transmission. I wouldn't exactly call the e46 non M cars SMG a manual as much so as the M3's SMG, I don't know if you followed that lol, but there was a huge distance, no launch control, nothing, it was very basic therefore it garnered terrible reviews. The SMG in the regular 3s were very different than the ones in the M's. Anyways, now that we have established they exist back to the original post, good luck in your hunt! There are even less out there since ours was totalled a couple years back. windnsea00 06-07-2007, 11:13 PM I wouldn't exactly call the e46 non M cars SMG a manual as much so as the M3's SMG, I don't know if you followed that lol, but there was a huge distance, no launch control, nothing, it was very basic therefore it garnered terrible reviews. SMG in both M and non-M cars was physically a manual transmission, that's what I was saying. fauchpj 06-08-2007, 08:44 AM http://photos2.ebizautos.com/1186/1748848_11.jpg BB BMW 06-08-2007, 12:01 PM This guy has one for sale. 2004 330ci with SMG transmission, Black with tan interior and has 42k miles Joe Antoun seyara2001@hotmail.com CELL PHONE NUMBER (480)390-9009 Tell him Steve told you about it.
