So yesterday, my mom and I went to Spokane to testdrive a 335i that I am trying to sell onto her. The car was loaded, with premium and sport pack. It was a Sparkling Graphite Metallic exterior with Grey Leather and brushed alluminum.

Ok, cut to the chase :evil2.During the first part of the tset drive, the guy took us on some city roads, showing acceleration from stops, and stopping ability.

Grade: A- (just because of the bumps felt w/ SP.)

On the highway, we gunned it on the on ramp, and before we noticed it, we were pulling 75 before we were even off the on ramp. Even at those high speeds, the car merged well, with quick and precise turning. Passing cars was a breeze, and the manuel mode shined.

Grade: A

On the country roads, the 335i quickly accelerated coming out of turns, and held its ground during them. 0-75 acceleration was in a heartbeat. From a complete stop, the 335 flew through the gears with amazingly fast shifts, and the speedometer needle was moving even faster. Before I could get a second glance, we were pulling 75 through corners, even though it felt like we were doing abnout 45. Amazing cornering at high speeds, BMW's specialty.

Grade:A+

Overall, I would give the car a 97 out of 100 for handling, looks, fun to drive, acceleration, and suspension.

The 335 is an amazing car, and is basically a 4 door e46 M3. My mom was amazed, and she had nothing but good things to say to my dad yesterday. I wouldnt mind having a 335i sitting next to my car in the garage:devillook

I am not a fan of the new nomenclature. I thought you were talking about the coupe the whole time, until you said 4dr M3.

Goofy Germans.

If we get one, we would probably get the 335 vert anyways.

Tell me about it - I've heard somewhere that it outperforms an E46 M3.

Hehehe. Let's not go here. Both are amazing cars and they have their differences.

I drove it and I loved the 335. So much low end torque. I almost bought one but it was just too expensive.

If that's true, it will not last long. New M3 coming out later this year (hopefully!)

The deep throaty exhaust was one of the best things about the 335. I forgot to mention that.

before i test drove and eventually ordered a 335i coupe,6mt,sport package, leather w/alum trim i test drove an 05 M3. The M felt like a slug compared to the 335. BTW i,m coming from an 06 BR350 Evo IX. Before that i had a modded 03 Evo 8. I loved that BR 350 but now that i,m 50 my tastes are changing and i want some luxury and a different style with my performance. I test drove a C6 vette among other performance (so called) cars. Everything felt like a pig compared to the IX. O-60 high 3,s, qrt. mile low to mid twelves,180+ top end, not to mention the handling, braking, ride, and all around performance. This is with the stock cat. converter. The only car that impressed me enough to sell the Evo was the 335i. I swore i was going to keep that Evo for a long time as nothing out there that i could afford had the ALL AROUND performance as the BR350 IX serial # 005.But after test driving a 335i (automatic, without the sport pck) it impressed the living hell out of me. So i made my decision and sold the IX for 30k after owning it for a year and a half (10k miles) and paying 33.5. I plan on keeping the bimmer for a long time to come. I had a 73 2002 (golf yellow) for 8 years when i was younger and absolutely loved that car. To many mods to list, but it was sweet. So i,m back to a BMW guy and couldnt be happier. The Evo BR 350 was a lot quicker and faster than the 335i but they are completely different cars that cant be compared. But the BMW has enough of everything to keep me very happy.

I test drove a while back though I feel you're being awefully nice on the car. The drive wasn't nearly as sporty as I liked. The looks are to refined I also don't like the way the counsel is set up. I would give it a 78.

In the most non-obnoxious way possible...

I spend my time in the following:

E36 M3 w/ almost every NA mod, susp work, diff, etc.
Track prepped 996tt (JRZ, Recaro SPG, exhaust work)
996tt cab
550 Maranello

AND, after being all those cars the 335 STILL impressed me. Mine should be here by the end of the summer :devillook.

This pretty much applies to me, with slightly different rides. This car is absolutely sick, and gorgeous to boot. With a simple drop, tint, and rims, she's an award winning show car already. Add in a PROcede and exhaust, and she's faster then my old Lotus, though she's a little heavier in the corners.

Drove one of these the other day too. If I had to describe it I would say it's like a linebacker in an Armani suit. With a degree in aeronautical engineering. It just does everything well. I was expecting not to like it because I hate Chris Bangle and I hate I-drive and I hate heavy cars. All of that faded away by the time the test drive was over. Probably my next car.

Agreed -- I got a short test drive of one, but it was enough to know that it's one hell of a car.

Behind the M coupes and the E30 (but I'm biased on that one), it's definitely my favorite bimmer that I've driven.
