They are not sold in the US (or Canada for that matter). If you've seen one, it's either a test mule or a Mexican model.

Coming at the end of 2007 to the US!!! One of the engines to be offered will be same engine offered in the current 335i. Yes, the biturbo 306hp one....from what I've read up on.

from what i hear the lower model(130i) will be going for around 25grand, and the higher model(135i) will go for around 35grand. And then there is the 130xi and135xi. So basically they will start at around 25grand and go up to around the high 30s.

My salesman told me they will be priced only 4-5k under the 3 series. He thinks its over priced, but he said the car is really cool, just tight and narrower than the 3.

I was under the impression that the 135 was going to come in at 30K. At that price I was thinking of getting it over a nice mid mileage E46 M3. If it's going to be 35K I will continue the sub 30K M search. With the ultimate service program only saving about 1K in the first 4 years it's not the greatest deal at 35K unless I wait untill the hype is over and get it under list.

I spoke to one of the dealers here last week and he said he was fairly certain that they wouldn't be offering the all-wheel drive option on the new 1-series, so no 128xi or 135xi. Living in Canada thats a fairly desired feature but my understanding it that its a no-go for that option since BMW is really trying to keep the weight off these cars.

I'm new here BTW, but I've just been lurking in the background for a while but I thought I'd chip in my $0.02

I'm sure the all wheel drive will bring the weight to e46 specs. Heck, at 3200 lbs for the 135 it's not really that light anyway. I was really hoping for sub 3000.
