View Full Version : Hello from West Texas
bradttu 05-29-2007, 03:30 PM Hi everyone. I am new to the board and new to Bimmers. I purchased a '98 328i with 74k miles on it last week.
I'm 28 and this is my 16th car, and my first BMW. I have a bad habit of buying and turning a profit. I really think I might keep this one for a while, though.
Jonathan 90 M3 05-29-2007, 03:38 PM Welcome!
I think you will be the only one on here that lives in Odessa.
Bimmerista 05-29-2007, 03:43 PM Welcome! You've joined the most entertaining forum on the planet. :D

Lucky! I've been here my entire life. It's not too bad, but I'd like to get up to the metroplex. My brother lives in Keller.

I spy a crucial (and misspelled) word in your statement that still makes mine true.;)

Lots of people lived there in the past (George Bush- or was that Midland? same thing really)...few people actually claim to live there now.

midland from what i was told, but i had no idea who he was :)
bradttu 05-29-2007, 05:23 PM The Bush's lived in Midland and Odessa. Laura is always in Midland, though. She eats at the same restaraunt all the time when she's in town visiting her mother. You'll be eating and about 5 guys walk in wearing suits and sweep the place. A few minutes later, here comes the First Lady. It's kind of funny to see.
The area is actually going nuts right now because of the oil field. It's not uncommon to see a Ferrari or Lamborghini at least once a week. I work a Medical Center Hospital, so I see Bimmers, Audi's, Porsche's, etc all the time. The Ferrari's and Lambos are still cool, though. I have pics of a guy's McLaren F1, Enzo and totalled Murcielago if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Post them up!
If the URL doesn't work (since you're a new member with less than 25 posts) just put a space b/w the 'http'. :D

I never liked Permian. I went there because I had to go to school somewhere. I did my time and left it in the past. lol
My brother went there during the Friday Night Lights fiasco. It was his senior year (1988) when all that went down.

Too bad you don't have your car with you. There are a group of us in El Paso who get together. Would love to see your car. How long you going to be in EPT for?
85rx12a 06-25-2007, 10:46 PM how often do you meet in elpaso
mpower001 06-25-2007, 11:04 PM Just really depends. It has been hot so everyone uses that as a reason to stay indoors. When the weather is cool we try to at least get something going once a month. For sure we are going to have a track day in Sept. There will be about 15+ BMW's and some Pcars. Let me know if you ever come out this way.:buttrock
